Conte confirms Harry Winks will not leave the club in January: "Winksy is playing well. Winsky showed to be a really able player. For this reason, Winks will stay here. I’m finding out which players are reliable and I can count on them. Winksy showed me I can count on him." #THFC

#thfc Asked about Ndombele's role in the squad, Conte says only: "He's a midfielder."

Ouch

Yeah he's done. Clear that Conte doesn't trust him.

Such a shame as I think he's probably the most naturally gifted player at the club and he could have been a transformative signing for us. At the same time, he's made his own bed now - it's not a coincidence when none of three managers trust you to play in your preferred position and either resort to leaving you out or having to play you at #10.

Desperately we replace him and/or GLC with some real creativity. If we have to see a Skipp/Hojbjerg/Winks/Kessie midfield next season then we'll be a bit of a turgid watch.

Luckily, I think we could replace Ndombele/Lo Celso/Dele with one player.

Ouch

I'm disappointed....that he pronounced Winksy correctly.

And atleast Conte didn't give Tanguy the VDV treatment.

What are the odds we convince Juve to take him on loan for the rest of the season? Their midfield is pretty poor and I think he'd fit better in a slower league.

Time to close this chapter now. His 3rd year at the club and clear for one reason or another it just hasn't worked out.

Probably the complete antithesis to a Conte type player. For a coach like Conte who puts a lot of work in, is intense and hungry for success, can imagine the sight of Ndombele just about breaking out in a jog when warming up or ambling onto the pitch as a sub, must be infuriating. Probably sees more of the same in training.

Levy no doubt will want to claw back as much as possible which makes a deal tricky but feels its all about whether he goes in January or the summer now.

I’d be all for that. McKennie/Kulusevski appear to be of interest to us and we know Juve likes a swap.

I'd rather look else where personally. Neither of those really excite me.

I like McKennie in the trailing/late-arriving midfielder role but honestly I don’t know much about Kulusevski other than he was previously highly rated. I’m just not sure if Juve will be able to simply take Ndombele off our hands unless there is some sort of makeweight.

I don't enjoy taking castoffs from bigger clubs. I'd rather players that were on the come up.

It isn't even what he says but how he says it. 9.35 minutes on this video

I thought Conte’s response, his body language and the manner in which he delivered the response was incredibly telling what he thinks of him! ?

What a waste of talent.

I hope we’re now doing our due diligence on the application of players before signing them.

Some posters on this very site raised concerns around this guy’s desire / effort and application before we signed him

… is what any other club would say about taking Tanguy.

I don’t see a lot of people desperate to take Juve bench players, just people realistically accepting a swap of castoffs might be the only way to get a real return from him. Turning a useless (to us) player into a useful one can be good business, if the alternative is the useless player sits in the stands and makes 200k per week.

Well I was always in his corner and made no secret of it but there's been every opportunity to succeed under Conte as evidenced by how Winks has done and if Conte doesn't feel he's done enough then he hasn't done enough.

Real shame tbh, we saw there was a need for a player of Ndombele's type of qualities vs Southampton but if he hasn't shown enough to be trusted then that's his responsibility.
