I have a feeling that he will want to stay due to our new status for the coming season, the champions league football, the excitement of the new signings etc.

Now if he reacts and improves his effort is another question

You can't carry passengers in the Prem anymore. What's the point of using a lazy Ndombele if we have the money to replace him with someone like Paqueta who offers both technical ability and work rate?
I agree, but the flaw in this argument is that we don't currently have Paqueta.

Looking at our situation, as is, we only have two attacking options.
And Conte may get in a replacement or leave Ndombele out of the squad completely.
But conversely he may want to prioritise a CB and RWB and, in the short term, accept Ndombele's limitations and utilise him as a hail Mary player in a handful of games this season.

Does anyone know if we obligated to pay out the rest of a players' contract when we sell them? Or is that something that's negotiated in the transfer?

I can make assumptions about contracts there but it comes from a knowledge of American sports leagues and they're obviously very different worlds.

@Trix I have a general question about contracts in transfer situations if you don't mind (this may have been answered elsewhere): are we obligated to pay out the rest of a players' contract when we sell them? Or is that something that's negotiated in the transfer?

@Trix won't be answering, hopefully because he remembers the times when asking ITK's questions resulted in mayhem across the board, but also because he's been asked not to. So our policy is, no asking questions.

I thought the question rule was no ITK related questions not no general questions :) Apologies.

Just to answer your question Rob, it's usually all amalgamated as part of the new club deal and part of the transfer fee as well. Contractually though, he is owed the remainder of his pay but is also expected to mitigate his losses by seeking new employment elsewhere and a court will offset that against any award/settlement. Hope that helps.

Seen reports yesterday that PSG will move on to Ndombele if they can’t complete a move for Renato Sanches.

This morning then there’s been reports of AC Milan advancing in a deal for Sanches?

I disagree with your assessment. Ndombele has shown his a fantastic player many of us have seen it in him wearing a Tottenham shirt but won't admit to it... the problem was fitness/ desire.

He has the ability no questions theres not many footballers that can do what he can but it take much more than skill and talent... Tottenham paid 200k a week for that talent it not to late imo
Not for a whole 90 minutes so the assessment is correct.

I honestly think his issues go deeper than simple fitness and desire.

He did work on his fitness but it just wasn't enough. I think he has the issue of being very strong at 2-3 things and really poor at everything else.

I don't think his all-round game is good for the Prem.

I'm 100% with you. I think people need to start waking up to the reality: as talented as he is, he's not good enough

in my opinion it’s no coincidence that 3 big signings bought the season of a global pandemic ultimately failed to settle.

Yes NDombele hasn’t helped himself on certain occasions but I feel if he came into a more settled situation a lot of his flaws - both mental and technical - would have had a better chance of being ironed out.
