He has £200k per week with us for another 3 years (or £120k per week plus bonuses). He is also probably for a loyalty bonus if he hasn’t asked to move. Why would he take a pay cut? If he goes on loan we will pay the majority of his wages, and if there is an option to buy the price will be low so they can cover his wages with a signing on fee.
If he were on £120k per week plus bonuses, then that would mean that he has been on little more than £120k per week since he joined, given his appearances, performances and achievements, and no likelihood of that increasing in the last three years of his deal. If that were the case, I'd have thought we'd have had far less trouble getting rid of him over the last few years. So my suspicion is that he's on £200k per week, which was the story since he joined. The £120k plus bonuses idea has only surfaced over the last couple of months as far as I can see, and I suspect it's wishful thinking.

Not quite sure where you get the bonuses info from. I thought it was a straight £200kpw, although someone once said he was on same basic as H (£250kpw)

I'm sure any player bonuses in his contract would just be about team performance, i.e. CL qual. Whatever the pot is shared equally amongst players.

Anyway, hopefully we won't have to talk about him anymore after this season.

Ally G said that his basic is actually closer to £100k

Napoli also have Zambo-Anguissa, another mercurial CM who struggled with consistency when he played for Fulham in the league but now looks a really solid player in Serie A. Hope the same thing happens with Tanguy and we add a sell on clause as well.

120k a week works out neatly mathematically as Napoli covering 50% of his wages and then the 3m "loan fee" reimbursing us the other half in a more accounting friendly way.

With the tax system in Italy for foreign players I believe 120k here is equivalent to about 80k/week there, net. Won't stop Tanguys 'people' trying to be more extractive beyond this on the way out while still claiming, for the pr, to be taking a paycut for the the sake of his career. He basically quit on the slow walk off the pitch but will likely blackmail the club on the way out based on the character he's revealed imo.

We have precious little leverage to be adding clauses with how obvious it is we want rid of the player…

Sky Sports:

Ndombele edging closer to Napoli loan

Tottenham’s Tanguy Nombele is edging closer to a move to Napoli.
The player is close to agreeing personal terms with the Italian club following the meeting between his representatives and Cristiano Giuntoli in Paris on Friday.

Ndombele is yet to make a final decision on his next move amid interest from other clubs.

Discussions continue between Spurs and Napoli over a loan plus an option to buy Ndombele.

According to Sky in Italy, Giuntoli was in Paris also to negotiate the sale of midfielder Fabian Ruiz to Paris Saint-Germain, and the purchase of PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Ndombele edging closer
Tottenham’s Tanguy Nombele is edging closer to the edge of the pitch following his FA Cup substitution. The player set off on his journey towards the bench during the match against Morecambe in January this year but reports now suggest he is close to arriving at the touchline…

We’ve been a club that for ages used a lower basic and topped up with bonuses - I’m sure we were told this years ago.
Yup, itk have said he’s on no where near 200. So if he’s on around 100 then it’s not huge wages. Plus with the Italian tax laws on foreign footballers it would mean he can take a pay cut and still earn the same.

Hopefully the slower pace of play in Italy suits Tanguy and can display just how talented he is, 30m euros would be great for us.

No more talk of the purported clause where they have to buy him if they qualify for the Champions League? That would have been a good one for us.
