To be fair that's hardly a good comparison as Mustafi isn't a PL centre back he's an Afghan mountain goat

That bloke Di Marzio is saying that Toby's told Spurs he won't be renewing his contract

He's also saying Inter want to buy him and Walker. So not exactly steeped in credibility.

However I do think there's a Toby sized problem brewing. The silence on his deal and that BBC interview where he was incredibly evasive about his long term future make me think he'll be off soon.

His contract runs out in 2020. So we've got until the end of next season to get him to sign -- if he hasn't by then we'll have to sell him to maximise his value.

Yeah it would destabilise everything. We need to keep this team together until we've had at least 2 seasons in new WHL

He's got everything needed for a top modern CB.

His contract doesn't worry me - three years is secure for a player his age. He's peaking now whereas it's the younger ones you want tied down for 4/5 year deals.

No reason not to give him the Dele treatment and just up his wages I guess.

We got him on a bargain deal and if we were to buy him now we're looking at £30-40m so it's fair to reward him and keep everyone satisfied.

I think a title win or the double may persuade him to sign on for longer, but seriously let's get the season over with otherwise this sort of stuff causes the team to lose focus when we are approaching an epic finish potentially.

If these news are coming, it only means a new contract is imminent. Probably agent making the noise, expecting club to come up with a new deal.

According to this Toby has told the club he doesn't want to sign a new contract. May be bollox but worrying if true. As for a release clause I didn't think Levy does release clauses.
