Reports this morning suggest that Jose Mourinho could be on the brink as Spurs manager. Writing in The Telegraph, Matt Law says that the playing squad are 'losing patience' with the Portuguese.

The players are a bunch of pussies.

No matter what we think about the tactics most of the failings this season boil down to player incompetence.

Own your shit.

The players look scared to make a mistake because they don't want to be the next one thrown under Jose's bus so they they simply don't express themselves with any freedom. Jose's methods just don't work any more, all this division and negativity is not the way forward. He really has had Levy's pants down, hard to believe Levy was so gullible. Anyway its another step closer to the door.

The players lose patience with Mourinho! Personally I have lost patience with watching these players put in pathetic performances against teams they should be slaughtering. They way they capitulated in Croatia was unforgivable and they have succeeded in making Brighton and Newcastle look like Bayern Munich. Mourinho has made mistakes but these players should look at themselves and their performances.

Would you enjoy going into work to work for someone who has no plan and consistently slags you off when their "second to none" methods never work?

Stevie Bruce is the latest manager to out tactic Jose and they were not even at full strength.

Exactly what the Man Utd fans were saying before they worked out that it was on Mourinho. They binned him and OGS has got them playing again.

Whilst this is true it does remind me of the old saying: "Beatings will continue until morale improves".

Whether they deserve criticism or not, it's not how you make underperforming players into stars. Each player will have their own quirks and cirumstances. A proper manager will work 1:1 with each of them and do what's necessary to turn them around.

Playing better but still haven't won anything since he's gone.

The issue is two fold, players these days are too spoilt and entitled, the manager need to take his fair share of the blame but I guess it's easier to back the players over the manager.

Under Mourinho, they challenged for the PL title and won two trophies. Under Solskjaer, they have not challenged for the league title and have not won any trophies. How exactly has Solskjaer done a better job than Mourinho?

No plan? So what did he tell Sanchez? "Make sure you pass the ball straight to a opposing forward in your defensive third so that we concede a goal"?

We play with fear rather than bravery. That comes from the training pitch, sorry.

I dont disagree with that in principle but when this same bunch of players get one top manager sacked and a managerial legend look past his sell by date, I start thinking the players may have some role to play.

Goes back further than Croatia. Our piss poor performance in the biggest club game there is told us all there was to know about a lot of our players (most of whom are still with us)
Will be interesting to see how these players perform in the Lge Cup final, do they really want to win anything??

Will be interesting to see how this manager sets us up in the final. Will he be encouaraging us to play with and to our strengths or primarily to nullify the opposition?

Whatever issues there are with Mourinho, and doubtless there are a lot, it does still not excuse the attitude and performances of these players. Maybe you are more accepting than me but I am sick of seeing our players outworked and outperformed by the opposition players of virtually everyone we play. I have defended them in the past because as a fan you are attached to your players, but this is just getting impossible to do. Where is their pride? As soon as Arsenal loanee Willock came on you just knew what would happen. Not satisfied by rolling over like cowards against Arsenal they still could not muster the effort to prevent Arsenal rubbing further salt into the wound.

I think a lot of our bad performances have been mainly due to Mourinho setting up with a pivot midfield and watching as they get outnumbered and beaten to every 50/50 or second ball. PEH and Ndombele end up chasing shadows most of the time. v Newcastle he actually had PEH on his own with Ndombele and LoCelso further forward, and the result of that was Newcastle having 22 (?) efforts on goal and the highest Xg on record. The players get some of the blame but Mourinho has constantly set them up to fail in the middle of the pitch where the vast majority of games are won or lost.
