Some good stuff in here. Some more context about Poch's personal trouble overcoming the flat CL final performance and outcome. And some decent insight - rather than speculation - about the squad and on-field solutions.

"Nothing is completely broken,” Pochettino said, with regard to relationships within the squad. “It’s just that sometimes, temporarily, the mindset can change and then to get back on track takes time or solutions. It’s only been three weeks [since the European window closed]. Your circumstances and your mental preparation as an athlete don’t just change overnight.”

Collectively, we need to press better,” Pochettino said. “I was talking with some players – it’s like when you go with friends to play five-a-side. No one wants to go in goal. You want to play with the ball. You don’t want to be chasing people and running in behind. Maybe we lose this balance.

“There is another part to the game – having the will to recover the ball, this aggressivity, and we drop a little bit in this collectively. This is the key point we need to fix.”

Pochettino argued the team’s performances were “not as bad as the feeling and atmosphere that we create

4 wins from 17 fucking football games.

You keep telling yourself nothing is completely broken and you're in for a long hard season. A little bit more pressing is not going to fix the turgid shite that I've been watching.

At last he is beginning to talk coherently. Hopefully he will now be in a better state to address the issues.

But he tried, he clearly said that after the CL game that the players didnt follow his instructions. So they are their simpletons (which most of them are) or he's lost them and they dont want to listen, going by results and some performances, its the latter.

Well I agree nothing is completely broken. Realizing the issues is the start to resolution.

Are you including Crystal Palace in that (where we pressed more and blew them away)?

It was his best press conference for a while.
If he stays focused with the players, then I'm sure they'll respond.
If he loses intensity because of the other agenda's in his head, then we'll get more of the same.

Actually it probably will. Get the aggressive press going and you inject the urgency that goes with it into the rest of your game. Get the press working as it should then your winning the ball high up the pitch with their shape broken, then you see the incisive passing far more frequently.

The aggressive press is the catalyst for everything good we do, fix that and the rest effectively falls into place.

Nothing is broken. There is nothing to fix. This squad has just had its day. The fight has gone.

This is the full consequence of not signing players in two transfer windows, and evolving the squad as you go.

Will be interesting to see what he does on Saturday. Such a shame Sessegnon and Lo Celso are injured but still got enough squad depth to start the rebuild.

This. Just don't see how getting rid will help if a new manager will have the same insoluble problems. Players in last year of contract, others wanting out, others on the wane. Really starting to worry about losing Harry now as well. He is on record as saying he will be happy here as long as we're progressing.

So Spursy that when we do sign 3 top class players, each of them get injured straight away...
