If we continue the tournament with the same approach to the game as last night, then I can't see us getting close. Despite the comfortable looking score line, that wasn't the general feeling that was taken away from the game.
We looked flat. Slow. Sluggish. Just like last weekend, we never looked like a threat except for a short spell, in which Mason capped off a beautiful move. Similarly last night we had a good 5 minute spell when Son managed to score 2 goals.
When we play fast dynamic football, quick short passes and sharp movement, we score and look a good side. But for the rest of the 85mins, tripe.

We looked rusty and unsure at times as a team due to the various ins and outs caused by injuries. A work in progress best sums it up. Son and Alli showed great potential. Worried if Dyer does not overcome his injury by Sunday.
We won. It wasn't brilliant but the opposition played well and looked a good side.

Very harsh assessment
Yes, we apparently look poor until we somehow manage to win by playing well. The bit about winning is the essence of any game, but appears to beyond many of our fans. I really don't understand what the oxygen tension is in the air some of these people breathe.

Steady on with all these positivity. Computers may explode due to your innocent observation.

A club of Tottenham's size should be going to win this tournament but it gets harder every year.

Whoever gave the the failed CL teams the opportunity to re-enter Europe via the Europa have really devalued the tournament.

It's good the Poch has come out and said that and really go for it through our Europa squad.

I still think once they get going they could reach the latter parts of the Tournament.

on the Europa topic I just read that arsene wenger believes that part off the drop off in co efficiency points was due to the teams in the Europa league were not respecting the Europa cup by playing weakened teams
the last time arsenal dropped down from the league phase of the champions league and into the Europa and then played mostly kids in fact he did not play his strongest team verses prague, cheeky bugger
teams playing Thursday and sunday will by need play a weekened team

It's probably the best chance of champions league football next year. Early to say this but I think we'll get through the group stage and then anything can happen. I'm not saying it's likely and we'll have to improve, let's not give up just yet.

And may it continue...as long as Spurs are giving players who don't play much in Prem. games a run out, who's complaining?
