Mauricio Pochettino was surprised to read that Harry Kane inspired Tottenham's fightback from 2-0 down in the Champions League semi-final, and said himself and captain Hugo Lloris did the talking at half-time.

Anyone else listened to that press conference today and heard Poch coming slightly off message?

The guy is dropping hints the same as the end of last year.

It sounds like he is saying, he has gone as far as possible with things the way that they are.

Yes, it was necessary for the last 5 years, but he wants a crack at the whip to close the gap on the top tier.

We need player investment, and we need that now.

Whoops. Tripps is in trouble!

I wonder if Poch is fed up with all the Kane admiration?

He stormed out of the previous press conference when the hacks started touting Harry for the final, rather than celebrate with the group that just won the match.

Properly pissed off he was.

Maybe Kane just took Trippier to one side and read him the riot act and Trippier thought the rest of the team were standing behind him.

Trippier is in a world of his own..... He's the type of guy who hears voices that tell him to "stand still" or "stop running"....."let that man with the ball go, he's a friend"....

"Put your hand up your shorts and touch yourself"....

I can see why Poch would be irritated by the claims re Kane's half time 'talk'. I sure Kane must have said something, but the Trippier allegation it was responsible for the turnaround must be suspect.

Poch is the manager and I doubt he abdicated responsibility in these circumstances. Also Lloris has now captained Lyon, France and now us. I know a lot on here are advocating Kane as captain, but Lloris has been the choice of 3 team managers as skipper, so there must be some qualities he possesses which aren't clear to an outside viewer. Poch has chosen Hugo, we have got this far with him and I'm delighted with that.

Yeah Kane strikes me more as someone like Beckham who leads by example rather than being a hugely vocal influence. I can imagine him shouting a bit trying to rouse the players, but the idea of him giving some rousing speech...I just can't see it.

Did anyone see him leave his seat at halftime and go in to the dressing room.....apart from Trippier?
