I'd still rather we didn't do it.
I saw a statistic a while ago showing that the majority of long clearances in the PL go to an opposition player.
We know there are risks in playing it out from the back, but it would seem that there are probably more risks overall in booting it out.
Our generally poor form in 2019 has maybe disguised the fact that we almost certainly benefit from greater possession during a match as a result of not booting the ball upfield from goal kicks and the like, and the price we pay is the occasional disaster like Saturday's. Overall though, I prefer us to play that way, and just try to reduce the errors, obviously.
