Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino believes he had to start from zero when he took over at White Hart Lane last May.

Because his English is limited, when he is being interviewed after our game, he seems to be saying the same thing all the time.

But this interview reveals a bit more what he is about.

I'm warming to our new manager.

Most impressed with the idea of using young talent.

Although I wouldn't say it was zero, I would say we had lost our identity under AVB or he created a new one just a shame it was comatosed.

Slowly but surely, bit by bit he has implemented his own characteristics onto the team.

They've become dogged, hard to beat, in your face kind of team, sprinkled with a bit of star dust.

He's given life and a purpose to a squad which had lost direction.

It's still very early in his reign and whatever happens in the remainder of the season I believe we are on the right path.

I must say Southampton sold a few too, others wanted to go plus long term injury so it wasnt really that straightforward for Koeman to be fair. The players he has bought in have been a success so Koeman deserves credit for that, not all down to previous coaching.

I would say that he took over a very good side at Saints and possibly one more on the up than us.

Forster, Alderwereld, Gardos, Tadic, Mane, Pelle and Ella. All signed and integrated by Koeman.

Probably should have left out the Koeman stuff, it was stupid when AvB tried to take some credit for the CL win having been sacked months prior, this isnt on a par with sort of egomaniac idiocy, but a a word of caution in his ear not to talk this way wouldn't go amiss.

yep with Southampton losing half a team Koeman certainly had a job on his hands but again he had nothing to lose because of that
