I guess it depends on the quality of the players he is working with.......Although a coach can drill defenders to adopt certain positions/formations to the opposition's tactics etc. If they lack real quality to begin with there is still a limit to their improvement.Does it look strange that being a defender in hi playing days, Poch could improve strikers and other attacking players under his charge at both So'ton and Spurs but can't seem to have much influence in our defence?

In the case of Harry, Mauricio can show him ways to stop defenders marking him out of the game, but again Harry has to have the ability to do it. As 'N17' rightly says: they will find ways to stop him and his goal-tally will probably drop off a little next season, but he will still be a better player for us.
I'm not sure what you are getting at here Gaz?Saints lost Lovren and Shaw last season and their defence is miles better this season. Connect the dots.
