If the question is who was, or who has been, a better manager for Spurs then the answer is easily Pochettino. Not close, because Conte's been here 5 minutes.

If the question is who MIGHT be a better manager in the future, I'd say in a vacuum Conte is one of very few managers in Europe I'd say is "better" than Pochettino. That would imply he's going to eventually have greater success than Poch did. But that's meaningless until it actually happens, and doing what Pochettino did on our budget would be hard to repeat.

If the question is "would you take Pochettino over Conte right now?" No, that would be way too disruptive and Conte deserves a long time to try and get us working properly.

For the record, I don't think a single league cup next season, or FA Cup for that matter, would make Conte automatically better than Poch. It would certainly help, but to me that smacks a little bit of falling into the trap set by rival fans. Pochettino is the best manager we had for decades. Decades. Certainly the best in the PL era, and certainly better than Graham and Ramos and probably Venables, our last trophy-winning managers. The way we played in 2016-17 was a cut above anything Conte has produced so far for us, and he would need to match or at least get close to that level for me to say he was the better manager of the two.

With Man U being daft enough to go for Ten Hag, i really hope psg want conte, we should just cut our losses and do the swap with Poch. We could do with a proper coach back at the club that takes the game to the opposition and has experience of turning a team that finishes 6th into top 4 and that doesnt constantly demand new signings.

For £18m per year, conte's tactics has been hoping Kane can play as a striker and as a creator at the same time and give 9/10 performances. Absolute rip off.

We have been played off the park by teams that have players that are less talented than ours on a consistent basis.

You lot are soft as shit.

We're 0-0 at half time and you're booing. A couple of dodgy matches after half a fucking season with Conte and you want him out. It's always funny how quickly "give him time" evaporates when we face the slightest bit of adversity.

Smfh. Never known a more entitled and whiny fanbase.

Somehow you've turned one or two posters into "you lot."

He had nothing else? What he should've had going into the 2018/19 season was what he had been asking for. A new playmaker, a proper back-up forward and a new CB. I read somewhere here that there was 'nothing to suggest Poch wanted Grealish' except it is both true and was nearly done, until the powers that be decided to try and knock a few more quid off what was already a bargain price. Dembele had wanted a move to China (he'd been learning mandarin I believe) and it was only at Poch's request that he stuck around until mid-season. We lost several key players to injuries, yet we still managed to make it to the CL Final and scrape 4th place. He still had something, that is beyond rational discussion.

I love what Conte is doing for us, it is sensational, and I believe if he gets what HE wants this summer, we will absolutely give it a go for the title.
Levy is not going to spend that kind of money, we are absolutely miles off a title, miles. I think anyone expecting the kind of investment that would be needed to take the current team and turn into a title challenging one, is in for a massive disappointment.

Conte

and if Conte was to leave us in the summer we should not go back to Poch.

Go for Potter or someone on an upward trend.

Jeez!
Let‘s just get some perspective.
Conte comes in….very quickly gets an underperforming squad raising their standards and believing in themselves.
He introduces a couple of new players, we get on a roll…and as we pick up momentum other teams start doing their homework on how to stop us.

And (reality-check) that’s where we are.

Conte hasn’t had very long with the squad yet. It’s not a squad filled with class, so he’s having to make do with what he’s got.
But now other teams have started to figure us out, it’s time to re-invent our style yet again….and not be as predictable to shut down.
This is where Conte earns his crust.
But jeez…the guy‘s only been in the position for a few months.
Let’s manage our expectations a bit.

I think the question should be more, would you take Poch back if/when Conte decides to leave, because lets face it we'd be completely crazy to instigate Contes departure unless he completely f*cked up and he's currently nowhere near

Kind of feel I'd need to know our situation ad playing squad at the time to judge if Poch is right for us.

I can see Conte going to PSG and us getting Poch back - seems like a convenient 'swap'. I do see Conte goal to PSG as a mismatch though and im listening to Talksport and theyre talking now about it and saying something similiar. I mean Conte has dont nothing in the CL to suggest he will win PSG the very thing that they want.

He will win the league but thats the equivalent of stat padding. So I dont see why Conte would go somewhere where potentially he will have no Mbappe and potentially no Messi so just Neymar.

I would take Poch back but not because im pining for him but just seems like if Conte does go then who else...

I do love Potter but what makes Potter better than Poch or is it a case of not going back as it were? There is no way Levy will not go for Poch if Conte leaves.

We were fantastic for four seasons with Poch, levy ignored his plea of a major rebuild and we declined in his final 12 months or so....this has been done to death I know....
Since then the likes of Mourinho and Conte have failed to get a tune out of this largely broken squad.
If we are going to be patient and go on a long term rebuild then Poch is a no brainer.
If levy is going to chuck serious money THIS summer then keeping Conte is a no brainer.
I would obviously want the Conte scenario, one because I want success asap and two,Conte with his players ,would imo be a great ride, he is an elite coach given the right tools.... not the dross he inherited.

It's not the same squad, though.

Since the summer just prior to Poch leaving, we've signed 15 players, counting Sarr who's been off on loan, but not counting loan players we've had (Bale, Gedson, Vinicius, Gollini etc.) or incoming Skipp and Tanganga youths.

Poch:
CM - Tanguy Ndombele
CM - Gio Lo Celso
WB - Ryan Sessegnon

Jose:
LB - Sergio Regullion
WB - Matt Doherty
CB - Joe Rodon
CM - Hojbjerg
WF - Bergwijn

Nuno:
RB - Emerson Royal
WF - Bryan Gil
CB - Cristian Romero
? - Pepe Sarr

Conte:
CM- Rodrigo Bentacur
WF - Dejan Kulusevski (as good as perm)
