how much has really Madrid paid?
and what about the money from the sale of Modric?

Gareth could come back on the cheap here

Heck, yes. Forfeit a few payments, sell a couple of fringe players for top money, negotiate some sponsorships, we could MAKE money off of signing the sorry bastard. He is not good enough for us, though.

The only way Kane should leave is if he asks personally to leave.

Sadly, I very much doubt he would even consider us. Not because he doesn't love us, but he'll want more success. He's won the CL, I imagine he will want to win FA Cups and league titles in England. Not gunna be with us (not anytime soon at least)
If he did come to us with a pay cut (which will still be a record for us) my faith in footballer integrity will be restored! Here's hoping.

That spot's filled. We have Lamela, with Townsend waiting in the wings... Chadli on the other side... nowhere for Bale to play!

We could probably pay £50m and still turn a profit thanks to the money from shirt and ticket sales, sponsorships and endorsements. It'll never happen though - there's a reason we've posted record profits for English league clubs in consecutive seasons.

I like the way Poch has answered this. It's just a one liner let's not read anything into this. The hard truth is, so long as they are closer to winning the champions league than we are to qualifying for it, most players would rather play for them than us. Instead of dreaming Bale or Modric will come back, we need to up our game so Kane and Lloris aren't looking to follow.
