I admit, I was hoping we could've done more yesterday, especially with trying to save on some wages.

But, the events late into the night relating to WHAM and how our Chairman appears to have punked them, has more than made up for it. :)

David Gold's tweets and the KUMB forum comments were just the icing on the cake.

5m in 5m out we seem to be around even for the last few windows. Think we will see more of the same until the new stadium is paid for

Doumbia went for just £11m.

Seriously missed the boat there. He would have solved so many issues it's not even funny. His market value will now be £20m+ with the new contract.

It's same old same old for Levy. He managed to find a way to save money. Next window he will find a way to make money. Been like it for years. Never buys to strengthen when we are looking to push on.

Even CL footy doesn't make him spend, nothing will.

I hope he backs Poch in the Summer. He hasn't done yet. The boss has done a very very good job with an extremely average squad.

This window was always about selling rather than buying for me.

Getting a fee for Naughton was a big plus. Shame we didn't sell Lennon, never know he might perform and get a few more admirers in the summer.

Had to vote Goat as I'm not worried about not buying but hoped for one or two more sales.

What happened with spam? Was this about potential Ade transfer to them or something?

Only thing I was disappointed about is the fact that we didn't manage to sell Kaboul.

Could have done better, but realistically we did pretty well. Yedlin and Alli came in. 2 decent prospects to develop. Naughton and Lennon were pretty much surplus so fine with them leaving. Capoue wants to stay and fight for his place so good on him. Shifting Kaboul and Ade was always a long shot but they might have a part to play. Vlad is a good squad option, Overall I think we did OK.

Wouldn't say happy, more content.

Happy that we got a decent fee for Naughton and Lennon who was clearly out of favour has gone off the wage book, would have been happier to shift some players on but if they don't want to leave then what can you do.

Glad that we kept Ade from going to West Ham, that one could have backfired on us big time.

Wasn't expecting much from January anyway to be honest, clubs just don't really do much business then.

What kind of tin pot club tweets not to go to bed so close to the deadline then ten minutes later says that 8 deals have collapsed over the last two hours......
icon_lol.gif

I love you west ham - don't ever change

Ps...the Tottenham stuff was so predictable, wouldn't surprise me if we were so excited at the possibility of Adebayor that we prioritised over other players and ended up with none of the 8 deals concluding...Daniel. Levy - job done....w****r

I do not get how 8 deals fell through! Is Trigger our chief negotiator?

I'm just relieved we didn't get rid of too many players without replacing them and leaving us short.

Unless you're splashing major cash there is usually a lack of quality about the January window sales. There's not really any of our rivals that got someone that made me think "I wish we'd been in for him".

Would've kept Lennon and should've got a new striker like Ings to lessen the load on Kane.

I guess the terms of Kane's new contract stipulate that he is to be reamed with responsibility for the duration.

Some cover for Kane would of been ideal but given we couldn't shift Adebayor and the like I can understand why it didn't happen.

I'm genuinely very encouraged though, as it certainly appears that we're changing our recruitment style now - with Poch/ Mitchell dictating the direction of such.

That gives me huge confidence for the future, as we need a clear plan and direction so we can achieve real growth as a Club.

For too long our transfer policy has become more and more fragmented. On the one hand Levy has done well in the market, selling on players for big profits, but on the other its sometimes held us back in terms of addressing the real needs of the team/squad and of course the position we find ourselves in now - struggling to shift players, who are on big contracts, and some who were never suitable in the first place.

Its a very difficult balancing act if your recruitment strategy is veering too much towards speculative buying and away from what the team actually needs.

That's why I think Levy will take a step back now. Of course he'll continue to what he does best in securing the best deals for the Club but the direction in terms of procuring such deals must be left to Poch/Mitchell's team.

It just seems that Levy has finally resigned himself to buying into someone's ideas for the long term. There's no magic formula for an instant jump, we have to build something right throughout the Club.

That's why I think we'll see Pochettino here for a long time and we'll see a different approach to recruitment. And if that's the case we should all be delighted.

I got no idea why and it has nothing to do with football, but when I saw the poll questions I was reminded of this.

I'm neither happy nor unhappy as I hadn't expected any major moves in or out.

Totally fine with it.

For the first time in a very long time I feel like we're heading somewhere fantastic with the set-up we now have.

Happy to wait for the summer, as mentally prepared myself for this season being one of exploration...and for it being one of exploration it's still going pretty damn well overall tbf and we haven't really played that well for the most part with all the steps forward and back we've, inevitably, taken.

It's always been about next season for me though. This summer will be busy and exciting and will define our intention for the coming years with youth, hunger and drive being central to our make-up.

The future is brighter than ever imo.

Gonna enjoy the rest of the season knowing we're in safe hands.

Well done Mr Levy, you've managed to sell two HG first team players, sign a player you actually bought last summer, and a young lad who won't appear until next summer, thus not strengthening the team and find time to screw over the spammers....

and everyone is pretty happy with you! tweaking the formula, but trolling rivals on TDD does the trick with the fans! (y)(y)

The window was exactly what I expected. In an ideal world we would have got rid of Ade and Kaboul (since neither will play a lot anyway and are just taking up space/wages) and brought in one or two to cover. Then again, maybe this will allow us to bring a couple more youngsters through.

Did Poch ask for Doumbia and Levy refuse to buy him........?
