Just found this on Bleacher Report:

With another derby winner, comes another controversial win.
Arsenal dominated the majority of the match, but their inability to defend Tottenham's counterattacks meant Spurs went up 1-0 before halftime. Arsenal equalized early in the second half after a lovely build-up play, but Tottenham scored the winner after a rare Wojciech Szczesny howler.
The controversy came mostly from Tottenham's first goal, after Rafael used his hand to control Adebayor's pass before volleying the ball into the far corner. The Dutchman then celebrated with the crowd, an offense that is usually bookable. And had he been booked, the midfielder would have been sent off.
It's hard to write about Spurs as an Arsenal fan, but I'll hand it to them for scraping out a win after being outplayed by their rivals.

Here is the original link (slide 3 is the NLD slide);

Now, lets work through this one sentence at a time.

Arsenal did not dominate the majority of the match. They dominated possession, but didn't do enough with it, and although they deserved to get level, once they equalised they never looked like winning the game.

Secondly, Arsenal's equaliser had nothing to do with lovely build-up play - it was Song charging unchallenged down the left after we failed to clear our lines.

Hand?? Really???

Is this Jack Wilshere writing this shit? Sour grapes doesn't even begin to describe it.

He hardly needed to say he was a gooner did he?! We weren't great but we created more chances than they did and our chances were better.

Seriously some people shouldn't be allowed near a keypad. Doesn't change the fact we won though

It appears to have been changed...? Possibly because it was so ridiculous.

EDIT: This is the author, Neri Stein. She's an American Liverpool fan. I think her opinions can be summarily dismissed.

We didn't play well and for 60 minutes they probably slightly shaded the better of the play, but by the end of the 95 minutes, I'd say we definitely edged them. We simply could've scored 4 or 5 by for some poor finishing (Parker, Adebayor, Bale all 1-on-1) and some good saves from Sneezy. Granted, Gervinho should've scored for them, but aside fom that, I can't remember too many other close calls.

There was an article on that site much funnier after the Liverpool game. Made it sound like we we're lucky to win by a goal.

For some reason the link now takes you to another article/slideshow entiteld '5 things we learned...'

If you look down the right side you should see a link to the original article called 'Premier League winners and losers...'

The winners and losers article is not written by that woman, its written by a guy with an unpronouncable name who says he suports he Arsenmal but not until you're half way through the article.

Yes but Iv'e heard you'd shag anything that breathes, or was recently breathing, within the last six months that is, so that doesn't really advance the sum total of human knowledge does it.

I assume that you would ask first.
On reflection I'm not sure why I assume that.:)

We might not have played to our best, but we did not play shit and Arsenal did not dominate the game.

They dominated possession in the middle of the park. Their only decent attacks came from individual bursts down their left hand side where walker is weak defensively still and VDV was leaving him exposed. VDV produced the chance for GErviniho like this and they got their goal in the same fashion. Other than that and a lot of possession in non dangerous areas they did very little.

We used the ball well on the counter, our passing was not great and this is why we lost posession so much but Modric and Adebayor had poor games by their standards (chicken and egg did they play bad because of the system or did their play make the system weaker in possession?)

We turned them over rather comfortably though, we had SEVERAL very very good chances to score against them and could EASILY have won by 3 or 4 clear goals.

I can't understand why some people think we were shit, or thought we were lucky. We were the better team and unlucky not to beat them by more in my opinion.

The big issue we have ahead of us is trying to figure out how best to involve the following key players

Parker, Sandro, VDV, Modric, Bale, Adebayor

it seems simple to say play this way

..... PArker Sandro
VDV Modric Bale
........Adebayor

but we need to see this system play together a few times to see how it works in practice. I really hope Parker and Sandro together enable the 3 attacking midfield players to get forward and attack at will, I hope between them parker and sandro can cover and protect both full backs and I hope Adebayor uptop alone does not get exposed and we don't end up too deep and lacking penetration.

It looks great on paper and I see no reason why players of such quality cannot make that system work. Shame Sandro has picked up a knock or we may have seen this system against Newcastle but I am sure we will get to see it consistently throughout the season and I am excited by the prospect of it.

I am sure at home against the middle range and weaker PL teams we will see a change in system that allows Defoe to play uptop with Ade though Personally I think in this case Lennon would be better suited than VDV (but dropping VDV may be an issue)

Who is bleacher report? Exactly

(fixed)

Its a US based website (but with some UK contributors) with loads of editorial columns/articles about teams and sports of all varieties.

I actually stumbled across it as a fan of WWE (their wrestling stuff is much better than their football stuff) but I have a little look at the football stuff every now and then if I'm bored (which I was last night).

Problem is that sometimes they blur the lines between what is posted as an article from a partisan perspective and a neutral perspective. The article I found is the perfect example as its on their front page and has a title which suggests its an impartial overview of the weekend's results. Instead its mostly just a gooner sulking that they didn't win (again ).

Its still an entertaining read but I thought I'd share it with folk on here as its way more deluded than anything else I've read since 6pm on Sunday.
