Deary me we would be overrun if we played that team! I suspect Livermore will fill in for Parker/Sandro for the first couple of games.

It also makes me sad having to think of lineups without Modric. Moreover, I doubt we will have shipped him out and/or replaced him by the time the Toon game rolls around.

The game vs Liverpool was disappointing but you have to look at the players missing from the PL squad from last season:

Modric, Sandro, Parker, Adebayour, King, Defoe.

And to be fair Liverpool also looked pretty poor and they missed only Suarez really.

But yeah I think we are looking a top 6/7 side at the moment - CL football looks really unlikely without a few more additions.

Even so he will still be in better condition than our players, travelled alot less than our team

I dont think this team is a given for the finals, they have conceded 3 goals against Egypt and Belarus and they have had spells in games were they look average despite being epic at times

I think Sandro will start. There is no way DL will rush a deal for a striker just for 3 games and anyway it is midfield and defence we need to be strong at the start of the season, which we didn't have last season.

THudd and Sandro with 3 in front of them is my fancy. Hope Ade is our striker and VDV, Sig and Bale the 3 in front. The back 5 are a given in my view.

I am, with the obvious being upfront. I haven't been reading much itk in the past week or so but I thought the Adebayor deal had broken down. Is it back on now?

Well the latest I heard was that Phil Smith (agent who's worked with Ade before), said on talksport that he very much doubts that Ade will move to us (on too much wonga).

I believe signing him isn't that clear cut and can see him signining for some Chinese/Russian gazillion spending team.

I mean, we've had a year to figure out if we can afford him and at the moment it's not looking good.

It's just fucking madness not to get a striker or two in before Newcastle.

Yea I heard that guy on TS as well and haven't heard much since. Have no reason not to believe that, wages was always gonna be a problem and all parties knew this. We need to get something sorted asap, don't want to end up with another Frazer Campbell/Pav situation again.
