Conte, the new Wenger.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte on Sky Sports: "I didn’t see the situation. I saw him put the pressure on the keeper and then try to stop. In my opinion I think the referee took the right decision."

Can it be reviewed by the FA and action taken against Costa?

Didn't see game but 5 yellows in one game mean some sort of fine for Chelsea? Setting out a blueprint of their game plan. Will be fireworks when we meet up again and hope we carry on our aggressive/combative style.

Thought Chelsea were impressive last night, West Ham were not in the game at all and miraculously found themselves level.

Kante and Matic is going to be a formidable CM pairing.

They were pretty average, Kante was a bit ragged too I thought, possibly because he was putting all the work of two players.

I think taking into account that it was the first game of the season, first game under Conte, who I thought might be more pragmatic, and Bilic usually has West Ham fired up, I actually thought Chelsea were very positive and looked very cohesive.

I think Kante was slightly hamstrung by the early card, but I think that looks like a fotmidable pairing.

Thought the chavs looked fairly ordinary going forward, which is no coincidence when they deploy two dms. Hazard ran out of steam and options. I think they will draw quite a few.

United with a match fit pogba will likely be the most improved, bailly looks quick and strong.

Liverpool, the goons and city all concede too many, but the window aint closed yet...

Despite the blip I hope Leicester do well again.

Cut the silly goals out from set pieces, which crept back in again towards the end of last season and again last weekend, we will be in the mix for cl qualifications.

Agreed. Now that players aren't allowed to hound the ref i feel it should give them more clear authority on the pitch, with their judgment not been influenced by players hounding them.(Although I realise that even with this rule in place it may still not transpire.)

I didn't catch any football over the weekend. Was there any evidence of refs stamping down on things?

Annoyingly Pogba seems a decent chap in that interview with Henry. I was hoping he'd be a bellend like the rest of them.

Funny he said he's best playing in a midfield 3. Exactly how Man U don't play. There are standard 4231. Either Rooney or ibrahimovic will have to be dropped to go 433

That much was obvious watching France in the Euros. Will be interesting to see how it works out. I think Rooney needs to up his game massively to stay in the side.

Gah, Mourinho just grinds my gears. Every word that seeps out of his mouth is so smug. I wanted my last memory Of him to be the shitshow that was Chelsea last season.

It hadn't really occurred to me before now, but boy, this is a ridiculously strong United team on paper. Deep quality on bench too. Definite title contenders, absolutely no doubt.

Of course it's strong. They've spent about 400 million quid in the last 5 years.
