As I've said repeatedly now, that was tactically very good from Mourinho. Classic Mourinho even for a big game. For me the bit of the game up to 2-0 was tactical performance of the season.
Said all season that Chelsea rely so much on the wing backs and inside forwards and how they work in tandem and outnumber teams and find either pockets of space on the inside or vast spaces on the outside for the extra man after dragging teams in. They are also at the top due to being the most efficient team of the season, soaking up pressure and then hitting teams with lethal counter attacks. Teams just haven't been able to work it out though, 4-2-3-1's just get ruined as no-one takes responsibility for marking wide players, some have dabbled with three at the back but with little thought into what they are trying to do, we matched up and showed that individually we probably have the better team in a lot of aspects, most though have just made it far too easy for them.
Utd though just went man to man marking and took the wingbacks and inside forwards out of the game. What you're left with was a two vs. one, well marshalled Costa, two centre mids who aren't going to hurt you with the ball at their feet, and only Luiz at the back who can use the ball and bypass the lines. They also took the counter attack out of the equation by their man marking and allowed their forward players to press and close down fairly adventurously and get about them a bit.
I don't think you can say the pressure is getting to Chelsea, not yet. Utd had a clear plan and executed it very well and put pressure on Chelsea that other teams simply wont.
Edit: We should be fully expecting something similar in the match in a few weeks. Mr Ego isn't bothered about who wins it, he just wants to throw a spanner in the works whenever he can.
