Hate to say it but I want them to go on and take the double.

But the football Gods never smile on me and them spunktard fuckers from Plumstead will probably
fluke another FA cup

Money alone only gets you so far, just ask Pep and Jose.

I don't like Chelsea, but I refuse to belittle my own team's achievements by acting like a sore loser.

I will simply be that much happier when we do win the league and the fact that that appears even remotely realistic is something to be proud of.

You're missing the point. Those two have massively underachieved.

Any of those Clubs winning the league isn't that sensational. I can't stand Leicester but what they did last season was.

What we've done over the last two seasons is so impressive, but won't get the recognition. Nope we're legends apparently.

Im not a sore loser I'm.just not applauding Chelsea for anything, with the squad and resources they have available they should be winning the league every other season.

I do too. I believe we'd be their opponent in the community shield and we need all the games at wembley prior to the season we can get. Gotta get used to playing there and we need to learn how to win there.

After the BBC posted some bollocks about 'the Conte affect', again completely forgetting they'd won the league the season before last etc, an Arsenal fan quite rightly points out:

"Chelsea
1905-2004: 1 Title
2005-2017 5 Titles

The Roman Abramovich effect.
Buying the title with laundered funds."

Is that in the same way that hard earned Uzbek funs buys Europa qualification?

I wasn't stating that you specifically were a sore loser, not at all. But there are some who are.
The point about money also only washes so far, or so I believe. Pogba for example.... he is simply just NOT worth what was paid, or to put it another way, is not exponentially 75million more of a player than Dele is.

Yes, clubs like Chelsea or United can afford to massively over pay to ensure they get a specific player or two and yes it distorts the market, but we have proven (mostly) that there is value to be had and its about tactics, team ethic, training.

You can also say that Kante at 30m was a shrewder buy than Sissoko, or perhaps even Mane for Liverpool.

Where money is an issue is wages and the amount players like Bats at Chelsea can earn sitting on the bench all season, to come on in the last game and win the title. But that is the world we live in, and you cannot dismiss them or City winning it and claim some kind of moral high ground.

We don't win a trophy for being less solvent than 5 other clubs and finishing above four of them, because by those standards Hull would dismiss us winning the league because you know, we have more money than them and 13 other clubs.

So yes, Chelsea's achievements are being overhyped, because they already had a quality team, had no Europe and got a good manager in who the players wanted to play for. They had a leg up over most other teams and for that reason it's certainly not surprising.

But their winning streaks were impressive, regardless and they are (unfortunately) deserved winners in a footballing sense. Doesn't mean I wouldn't want Abramovich investigated and tighter regulations regarding the game (financially, loans, wage caps etc...), but so far there aren't.

And to all the journos saying Conte worked a miracle. Most of that team won the league 24 months ago.

I was tweeting Phil McNulty(twat) last night with this comment after he posted an article about how Conte changed everything in his first meal as manager. All he came back with was

10th to 1st. No further debate needed.

Which is typical of a journo who had obviously forgotten they won the league 2 years ago and spent almost 100 million during the summer.

Difficult to assess. If you could get tickets for an away game in the opposite end to watch your team win the league, you'd do it wouldn't you?
I did it at the Etihad in 2010 for the CL "playoff". One of the best decisions I ever made.

Sweeping aside any mention of last night I now look forward to a tale of two cities...

Hoping for Man C and Stoke C win today. The other matches are not on my radar.

Haha. 10th when they underperformed and downed tools completely to get a manager ousted. This is back to the norm for them, and if the others - Man Utd/City/Arsenal - had performed as anticipated the 'race' would have been tighter. As it is, their run of wins earlier in the season was enough of a boost to put them ahead and keep them there.

I also don't like McNulty.

Gotta be a Leicester win for me, it'll guarantee us 2nd.
Actually a draw would achieve that as well.
