Don't be so sure. When Madrid come in strong they usually get their man.

Players look at it as if they come in for them, they might not come in for them again

Salah has no obvious loyalty to Liverpool ( he’s recently said he supported them as a boy but if I remember correctly, he turned down both Liverpool and us to join Chelsea ) and the climate, playing for a bigger more successful club will more than likely swing it

It’d be brilliant to see Hazard and Salah go to Real. Would be two great signings for them to be fair and get them back challenging Barca. If they could see fit to take KDB and Sane too, that would be great!

We stuffed them at Wembley 5-2 on Boxing Day yet just over 3 weeks after we got a 1-1 away .. Mystery.
Influenza.

Not worth losing sleep over this game it was never going to be the one to put us above Liverpool and I doubt very much West Brom will do the business tomorrow night either, we got a bonus with the United result but there's plenty of time for the rest.

Watching United today and a few things are becoming more noticeable to me, though I could always be wrong;

- They play a defensive style with defenders who don't appear to have the cohesion to fluidly close up gaps. Jones is getting frustrated and drifting out regularly and it nearly always ends in a foul, but no-one covers the gap he leaves. Three times today he was caught out of position. Maybe he's trying too hard, he's certainly one of their hardest workers regardless.
- They desperately need a Dembele or a Dier. Not specifically those two, but they have no apparent connection between their midfield and back four and, when the midfield are in possession, there's no-one taking on their man and because of this...
- They often give the ball away trying too many hot passes while rarely winning the ball back, they mostly depend on the opposition losing the ball in some way. Their tackling is sporadic and clumsy.

Don't get me wrong, they have some superb players, but the system they're playing right now just doesn't seem to play to any of their strengths. If they moved back to the way they played during the Rooney/Giggs era with two up front, fast movers on the flanks, some teeth and balls in the middle and a higher, more aggressive line, I don't doubt we'd see more chances for Suarez and less pressure on their back line, but thus far this season all they've shown me is how bloody good De Gea is and how frustrated their attack looks.

It's also interesting to notice how little the pundits on the radio seem to be talking about Smalling's awful, awful dive, considering it was three days straight discussion when Kane went down in the area against the bindippers, with a legitimate claim.

Firminho had a couple of paltry efforts today as well. You'd think they'd know better.

The way I see it with Utd is they've totally fucked themselves with the Sanchez signing, they have 3 big players who have to start in every game regardless - Sanchez, Lukaku and Pogba however they can't and won't be able to find a formation to accommodate all three players

Lukaku needs to play with a player behind him in a 4-2-3-1 like a no10 or a support striker because his hold up play isn't good enough and he can become isolated on his own. This however means that Pogba struggles defensively in a two because he hasn't got good discipline and he's far better in a 4-3-3 which Lukaku struggles in because he doesn't have support. Now they've bought Sanchez he wants to float and do his own thing which means he doesn't always keep the shape of the team and he always wants to be on the ball which renders their attacking play totally random, they really have no plan or structure going forward.

Stupid club.

I have to admit to feeling a little sorry for Lukaku - he got pelters for just being a poacher with no other skills to contribute, so they broaden his game and have him with his back to goal a bit more, trying to play some hold up, and he gets pelters for that too.

They've got Sanchez, Rashford, Ibrahimovic & Lukaku - all four of which need a similar type of player alongside/behind them. Reckon Lukaku will be the sacrificial lamb in the Summer and maybe Ibrahimovic leaving too, but instead of going after the type of player they need they'll go all out to bring Ronaldo back.

I still haven't seen anything from Pogba that shows a world record transfer fee. Every one that has broken it has pretty much deserved a world record fee bar Pogba and Denilson

Just give it time and some FIFA playing apologist will fill you in on all the external factors that need fixing in order for Goldilocks' porridge to be just right ie formation, no defensive responsibility, a new emoji, dabbing to come back, etc.

Literally just turn over and Sturridge is on the floor and off the pitch already!

I think he's finished as a player at the top level at least I really do.
