He was poor at Newcastle and didn’t settle and in the end I don’t think they wanted him anymore.

He may well have ignored us if we were interested, but we don’t know that for sure. It’s not like he’s a superstar who would feel he’s beneath being a squad player. And being a squad player at Newcastle is not the same as being a squad player at a club like us.
