Because Liverpool will probably get top 4 - arsenal is our competition for the fourth spot.
Yeah, this. Liverpool and Chelsea are much better this year and Arsenal have the new manager bounce and consequential boost in form, plus they strengthened. That's why when the season started I predicted a 5th place finish. We've got to stay ahead of Arsenal and Man U to stand a chance of getting top four IMO. That's why I think, or suspect, Levy has been a bit arrogant in thinking we could stroll back into the top four this year without signings.

That’s the result I’d want. We beat Wolves and we go above Arse and just 3 points from the Dippers.

Do you not think it’s better if one of them looses?

Neither have lost for ages and one defeat can sometimes turn into two or three.

Not really. They can lose to City, who I think will win the title this season. When the other top 6 teams (I include United ) play each other, I’d rather that those games end in draws.

With all this talk of 4th now let's see if we can dispatch with Wolves to take advantage of this result.

Arsenal fans on FB and Twitter are convinced they are back now, after that result. A draw. Not sure I get it..

They are much better than the first few weeks of the season but Palace last week and Liverpool yesterday. It doesn't really mean that much. Yet, anyway.

I'll be watching the Chelsea/Palace game - our two next opponents in the PL, two London derbies
followed by a third against Arsenal.

I think we need to see more of goons to see if they really have progressed, on the surface they've got their 'flow' back but I don't think that was ever going to be a problem considering the attacking players they have. Just needed a new voice with more attention to detail and making players responsible/care. Which Emery seems to have done.

But if anyone has watched Liverpool this season will tell you, they were much more energetic and vibrant last season. Klopp seems to be going for a more pragmatic approach compared to previous and it's working for them. But it is reducing their pressing game and other teams are getting more of their lions share of possession. We were poor against Pool and very nearly/should have got a draw, so I do think they've been talked up a bit too much. Therefore I do think Arsenal fans are reading way too much into that game/performance.

Let's see how Arsenal fair in the second half of the season when it gets tougher and injuries and fatigue come in to play. If they go away to one of the other big 6 and put in a top performance then we'll know a little more on where they are.

I saw a funny tweet from one of their lot, something along the lines of "That's our two hardest home games out of the way now, so we can focus on beating the smaller teams" .................well, considering you only obtained a point in both those games and you still have to go away to these teams that's hardly a positive outlook.

Remember in AVB's first season, we went on a winning run and looked like we were going places? More resilient, better discipline, better focus and were winning big games at home. Next season all of that was stripped away and all the faults were on display. Arsenal's defence hasn't suddenly become stable and reliable, therefore I still fancy them to come undone.
