I know Liverpool got a league and CL under Klopp but I will very much love watching it all unfold.

They have special rules for some players.

Solly March = always use his full name, never just March

TAA = Trent

And so on

“Bobby Firminio” was always the worst one for me with commentators.

Ha, Carragher - “how do we know that’s a goal scoring opportunity? It’s not a red card” well because we can see it with our eyes Jamie you dipshit, if he doesn’t get wiped out then he’s literally facing goal with the ball at his feet, joke pundit.

Have to say I like Townsend in the studio, absolutely miles better than the calamity that was Sturridge, and Richards too.

Of course it's denying a goal scoring opportunity. The key word is opportunity, that doesn't mean it needs to be a nailed on 100% goal. If he's not wiped out, he's 1v1 with the keeper

Carragher must be one of the worst pundits to have on. 'You don't know it's denied a clear goal scoring chance'.

If VVD didn't take him out and missed the ball, he was 1v1 against the keeper! Muppet.

“We don’t know it’s a goal scoring opportunity because he doesn’t get there” - indescribable levels of nonsense.

Agreed. I initially thought he should have walked, but 2nd viewing Gordon went down far to easy
It was also farther from goal that I realized. I thought he was closer to the half way line. Remember that "professional foul" and "tactical foul" are not in the laws. It has to be "stopping a promising attack" and given the distance from goal and the additional Liverpool defender right there I actually think the ref was right.

Glad it wasn't a shiv tbh
In America we don't use shivs...

Again timekeeping is utter wank bollocks. There was a four minute delay for the red card alone.

why can't they ever get anything right ffs. Countdown clock now or just go back to how it always was

it's really simple. Set a minimum time that the ball has to be in play. You have to take as much power away from the refs as possible as they've proven they're utterly useless or worse.

Gordon took a dive for the 2nd one. It was an arm on his shoulder, not a shive.

agreed it’s a dive but if ref decides it as a foul surely it’s a yellow? Same as Tomiyasu last week; Ayew goes down easily but ref says it’s a foul so has to produce a yellow

What a fucking stupid argument from Carragher, great response from Andros.

His response is the correct one, we don't know, but denying him that chance that looked odds on for a goal scoring chance is why it's a red. If it was going away from goals.... no, but it was running past him (as he let it so that) to turn him to shoot.

Just goes to show that even genuinely good football analysts like Carragher are often blinded by loyalty. It affects everyone and it’s why Neville and Carragher should stay well away from commentating on Utd and Liverpool games. Sky should be ashamed they haven’t done this yet.
