Don't understand how that challenge wasn't effectively the same as the challenge against Brentford that got them their pen against Son

The fact that that decision in the Brentford game did not stay with the on field ref gets more and more unbelievable the more games I watch.

Have to admit Moyes has set this team up well. They’ve got all the tactics of shithousing PL points down pat - they are ugly but undeniably effective.

Big athletic CBs, wingers/fullbacks who have pace power and a good cross on them, a real destroyer tackling DM in Alvarez, big aerial presence in Soucek from midfield, and then genuine quality in Paqueta and Kudus coming in who don’t need much of the ball to create chances bc of their talent.

they stay compact and Antonio is a nightmare on the counter.

And now they’ve got their man - James Ward Prowse the set piece specialist. It’s all the elements of dark arts combined into one.

they are annoyingly well put together.

Even madder there was rumblings he would be gone before the season, or the first rough patch

It's one where PGMOL not being more open causes more issues, but reading some tea leaves through the usual media mouthpieces I think PMGOL didn't really like the VAR getting involved there. I think that matches up with some of the similar challenges we've seen since.

In fact the VAR for the Brentford/Spurs match was 4th official in MD2 and not involved with the PL this week. Perhaps further evidence that Webb and co didn't like the intervention. Of course it got a lot less attention because of the United/Wolves debacle.

I can understand it, when it looks bad they look absolutely hopeless, and it’s like Conte ball in that it can be a drudging watch. But imo this is the best they can do for now. Maybe they’ll go for a more progressive manager down the line.

I had a text message from a West Ham fan with the current table literally 30 seconds after they scored their 3rd. From someone I haven’t spoken to for about 2 years.
