schar should get a red card for simulation. that's a ridiculous dive for the pen and these dumb arse referees of the EPL fall for that crap. Said it before, worst & most corrupt refs in the world

This is the problem with VAR.

If the guys in the VAR room arenrt sure they should make the ref check it and say theyre not sure....not check because youve got it wrong.

The final decision should rest with the ref, who's seen it live and replays.

In fact scrap the guys in the VAR room and let the ref decide with the replays.

How are professional footballers ok to be chewing gum while playing? Is it not a safety issue? I know they have to tape jewellery etc but no chewing a big old wad of gum will running, jumping and shouting is a-ok

Oh just get rid of VAR....

Football was so much more enjoyable without.

Just got to accept the refs will make mistakes and we get to celebrate properly again.

They're fucking up more and more with VAR anyway.

Just seen the incident, another apology for Wolves is on the way.

First team to get two apologies from PGMOL and were only in October.

How VAR can come to that conclusion, same as yesterday, is just beyond me. These are actual referees in the VAR room as well and they are incapable of reaching the correct decision even after looking at it 50 times in slow-mo. Incredible.

The problem is the ‘clear and obvious error’ bar that they use. With incidents such as this, if the referee gives the penalty, VAR won’t overrule, and if the ref doesn’t give a pen, there’s no way VAR would give a pen. So it all comes down to the referees initial decision, making VAR redundant in these situations!

That was an absolutely horrendous decision and Shay Given showing his clear bias in the studio aswell.

That was never, in a million years, a penalty. Schar clearly dived and even held the wrong leg as he went down.

Every other league has shifted from "clear and obvious means find any reason to support the ref" to "clear and obvious means what would most refs say is the right call". It means more reviews and the controversies are usually on the "VAR should not have gotten involved" side but this shit doesn't happen. England still stuck in 2018 when the rest of the world changed.
