Havertz caught the standing leg with his trailing leg, it looks worse than it is and not worth more than a yellow. Guimaraes is an assault charge, how VAR cleared it I've no idea and the FA should do a retrospective ban on him. It was deliberate and nowhere near a challenge for the ball.

The ball crossing the line is unclear. The ref is the only official near enough to see it and he didn't give it at the time. Unless VAR can clearly say it's run over then they can't cancel it out. The angle they have to work with isn't good enough.

Because Havertz didn't make any contact, his foot was low, and he only hit him with his trailing leg.

Guimaraes literally ran up and elbowed someone in the back of the head off the ball.
Ffs - he's out of control and it's only blind luck Havertz hasn't broken a leg just like it was blind luck (and quick reactions) that Vicario's leg wasn't broken by Nketiah. Both of those were reckless and dangerous and absolutely red card offences.

I know it's arsenal.....

But is no one worried about the flagrant corruption from the officials?

That guimaraes decision was outrageous.

We still have to play the saudis twice this season.

Think people's opinions are going to change wildly after the same shit happens when we play Newcastle.
If it was corruption havertz would have been sent off. He then also made a number of fouls afterwards as well

No way havertz was a red. Trailing leg caught him.
I wouldn't say "no way" - it was a pretty reckless challenge, leaving his feet like that, and fortunate not to hit him higher/harder.

Bruno G - honestly, that should be a retroactive Red. First, he deserves it for an intentional blow to the head. And second - it would be glorious to see all the Arsenal fans lose their heads over it not being a RC during the game.

Did Saka even play today. They were hyping him up to be some generational talent
He is; as pointed out though, he’s absolutely knackered. No idea why Arteta sent him on on Wednesday. Add that to the list of bewildering choices he’s making.

Did you completely miss the part where he's off both his feet and therefore not in any control making his tackle dangerous and therefore a red card?

Same for Nketiah on Vicario. These types of tackles used to be automatic red cards for the very simple and good reason that REGARDLESS OF CONTACT the very act is reckless endangerment.

SO I don't care if he didn't make any contact whatsoever - his very action should be a red card offence.

Why? Even with that win they are 4 points behind Arsenal. A Newcastle win was absolutely the best result for us.
Because it would have meant 4 points dropped by rivals instead of three. The fact that Newcastle won suggests they're likely to make ground up on both of us.

Depends how far you go back...these used to be everyday challenges in the 70s/80s

So if the VAR spent the 30 seconds checking the ball out of play and the push but it turns out the player was clearly offside you'd be okay with that because the clock hit zero?
Yes. Don't have a problem with not spotting an error within the 30 seconds. At the moment var is not working well. Football isn't an exact science, nuance and human judgement comes into play. There will always be errors vut at the moment things aren't clear. Othwerwise replace the whole thing with ai.

We should only worry about what we do. Determined not to give a shit about any other team this season. I'm just enjoying our renaissance under Ange.
