Disagree, letting the crowd and pressure of Liverpool players affect him and giving all 50/50 type calls their way. Penalty was soft and would have stood up against var if he didn’t call it as Diaz dived.
They're getting needless bookings though so they're not getting everything.

First I've heard of that law to be honest. Still think Joelinton should have been booked.

A two hand shove to the back to stop an attack is just never going to be considered reckless. It's worthy of a yellow for stopping a promising attack (and for being a dick) but the laws say the card isn't given after advantage.

Eh? There's barely been any 50/50s at all, the penalty was a penalty even with the delayed fall from Diaz.

He just booked two Liverpool players for dissent.

The only one wrong so far was no yellow for Joelinton .

I'm not arguing that the law exists, I just didn't know about it and apparently I'm not the only one. I swear I have seen players booked regardless of the type of challenge after the advantage has been given. If the ref blew for the foul then he would have been booked and in my mind the law should be if it's worthy of a booking and it's cynical (which let's be frank it was) then it should be a booking.

Oh I 100% agree with you there.

what's the feeling here as best outcome, draw? or Newcastle nick a win?
Personally I’d take Newcastle nicking a win, I think they’re knackered and will drop points consistently over the coming weeks. Plus, the league is so much more enjoyable this season having four or five teams genuinely still playing for it as opposed to two teams clearly out ahead.

Yup.

And most importantly, fuck Anfield and Liverpool.
