It must be difficult to motivate the palace players. Their season is over, they aren’t going down, and they aren’t going to finish higher than tenth.
Especially with a coach like Roy.

He doesnt really believe in giving some of the younger players a chance.

He gave up the FA Cup.

His brand of football is not brave or inspirational.

Still dont know why they kept him on beyond the summer.

Nothing to look forward to.

Palace have been in the PL over 10 years now and havent once looked like qualifying for Europe

Wolves, WH, Brighton, Bolton, Leicester, Stoke, Fulham, Portsmouth have all come up and had a stab at it.

I get its not easy for a club there size to maintain a PL position but they can't simply just 'exist'. Fans need a little more than that

Sorry that cross was to an offside player, if he wasn't there the Palace player doesn't have to play it. What are the laws anymore?

I think they may well be in a relegation battle, they are very poor.
Can’t see it. Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley are poor enough to make Palace safe imo. But even if they do suddenly start winning, Everton and Forest have points deductions to contend with.

But it’s probably time to change Hodgson out for someone who can get the team set to start next season positively.

I can see Luton finishing above them. They are at least competitive in their marches.

Some of these teams like Palace and Brentford need to be wary about next season.

Leicester and Southampton will be much more capable and the relegation scrap wont have 3 really poor teams who can hardly scrape wins together.

Even West Brom and Leeds may offer more if they came up

I always wonder what fans of teams like Palace feel like they get out of it.

Like you say it isn’t easy for these clubs to maintain positions it climb the table. It just feels like Palace have this every season where it’s like “will we finish 10th or 14th?” And more importantly at that point why care?

I know once a team is your team you stick with it, and I’m sure they have a lot of long term supporters who have settled in to that now, but where’s the excitement? Where’s the aim or objective they make their fans look forward to?

Perhaps I’m wrong but it just feels like it must be such a nothing existence for most of their fans, which is a shame as they do have good fans who can create a really good atmosphere!
