But as a football manager on the sidelines or interviews, he comes across as a prick to me.

He's the kind of guy who if you're on his side you'll think he's the best person to walk the Earth, and if you're against him he'll be a prick. That's probably one reason he's such a good manager.

In real life outside of football I think he's a good person. Of course football can get intense and nasty but that's part of the fun too.
