I've just thought. A question for the refs. If Luiz does get a yellow, it would be more beneficial for him to pick up a second yellow and get the 1 game ban from the red than the 2 game ban from 10 yellows

Edit - actually the first yellow would still count. So what would happen? Just the 2 games ban for 10 yellows?

Think the two bans would be served one after the other, so would end up as a 3 match ban.

2 matches for 10 yellows + 1 match for sending off.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think the yellow wouldn’t count. Same thing happened to Bissouma away to Luton when he dived IIRC.

He was 1 yellow away from a ban. Got booked, but then yellow got upgraded to a red after second booking. He then missed one game. He then got booked a few games later and was due to miss another game but was away at AFCON anyway so it didn’t matter.

I think the 1st one counted but the 2nd became a red. Issue being this is the last game 10 yellows gets a 2 game ban
