Stoke nearly made it to half time level against Villa. Ball flying around all over the place with Stoke's high energy game looking a genuine obstacle for us next weekend. Villa getting it forward quickly, but can't really maintain possession high up the pitch.

Check out Scott Parker's equaliser against Chelsea. Maybe the keeper was a bit too far off his line, but it was still a sweet strike.

Also Anichebe is supposed to have scored a cracker against Birmingham, haven't seen that one yet.

Edit : just saw Anichebe's goal, it was ok, nothing special.

Good game at St Andrews by the sounds of it. Good goal from Anichebe to kick off and 1-2 at the break.

Wolves benefiting from a dire back-header and scoring a soft goal to take the lead in that massive game.

Anyone seen Scotty Parker's strike? What I think is called in the trade a screamer. Chelsea the better side but Hammers should have gone 0-1 up and should take heart from the score given the pressure Chelsea have put them under.

Villa's ability to quickly find their front men on the counter is impressive. However, possibly as a result, they lack conventional midfield 'possession' as we know it. Stoke could easily nick this - they're getting down the flanks well and Tuncay going off for Fuller looks to have made them more effective.

A bit off topic, but there's an amazing score in League Two. Burton Albion 5-6 Cheltenham!

We'll done Stoke. Now go out this Friday and celebrate your point at the pub. You've earned it!

Totally unsurprised. Everyone banging on about Villa's fixture list ignores the fact their football is set up to play to the sides who like possession (ie the top sides). When they have to create it can make for some pretty poor football matches - such as today's by the sound of it.

Great results for Spurs, with Brum and Everton finally ending each other's tiny ambitions of challenging for the bigger honours, too. 4 points ahead of Pool is really 5 given the GD, too. If Benty can do us a favour tomorrow, everything's coming up Milhouse.

Yeah wasn't a very nice challenge at all, had Sagna's leg been planted it could have done serious damage. So stupid from Boateng, hard enough playing against Woolwich with 11 players the way they keep possession.

Has anyone seen Sol's challenge yet? They seem to be suggesting it was rather nasty, and if so it'll be interesting - or rather predictable - what Wenger's reaction might be after his recent comments on Shawcross.
