AFP reports that the as yet unnamed financial institution could replace Emirates as PSG's main shirt sponsor, with the existing commercial deal generating only 3.5m euros per season.

However, the possible new deal, disclosed to AFP by sources within the French football authorities, could net the Ligue 1 side up to 400m euros over four seasons.

Such a commercial deal would leave PSG far better equipped to conform with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations which are designed to ensure that clubs do not spend more than they earn.

PSG have spent an estimated 250m euros on transfers since being taken over by Qatar Sports Investments in the summer of 2011 and it appears at present that they will struggle to fit within UEFA's guidelines.

Bringing in 100m euros per season would be a great assistance in this regard, though UEFA has said that any such contracts will have to pass a "fair value" test ensuring that rich owners cannot simply bypass FFP with deals that far exceed market value.

AFP also reports that prospective investors are seeking to attach their name to the Parc des Princes stadium in some way.

In a statement to the news agency, PSG said they had "no comment to make on any contract ... we will give details about our contracts as and when they're signed".

PSG currently have a sponsorship deal with Qatar National Bank that gives the company brand placement at Parc des Princes and on the club's website

If PSG get away with this than FFP is dead, Man City's £40m per year for 10 years is drawrfed by this. From 3.5m Euros to 100m Euros a year is a piss take.

It could just be a load of paper bollocks though.

These clubs aren't even being cute about such deals. Was always going to happen. Uefa won't do jack about it.

Hopefully PSG stop our own sugar daddy backed clubs over here from acquiring certain players and winning the Champions League again.

The Premier Leaue need to implement their own financial fair play rules. They would get 18 clubs to support such a move straight away. Pretty sure Wenger and United have already said they would back it. Unsurprisingly City aren't for it.

I read on Swiss Ramble that PSG only have a turnover of 100m Euro's a year (Ok they have CL money this year to add also), so this would double it.

Levy should take advantage of this.

There were links with Qatar Airways previously, a combined shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights.

This whole FFP thing is a joke. Platini was happy to beat the drum about it when he thought the targets would be English clubs.

Funnily enough now that PSG are taking the p*ss as well he's being ever so quiet....

I think that he has tried to do something but has bitten off more that he can chew. I mean do they really think they can take on these guys in a court of law if it comes to it?!

When it all came about I had my major doubts and until I see a big club (financially that is) penalised properly I will be ever so cynical

I am sure PSG have received sound advice considering they have a senior legal adviser who is the son of a very senior legal official.

As I have said before, FFP has simply pulled up the drawbridge to prevent sugar daddies coming on the scene.

Well they have to, as the traditional big boys are abiding by the rules and they need the rules to be enforced in order to survive and I expect Real Madrid, Barca, Italians Clubs(the people behind ffp) and the uniteds and arsenal threaten to leave uefa if it is the case since only 2 clubs are ignoring it at the moment and that is Chelsea and PSG

Also Man City's deal is not £40million a year its £400milion, most of which is going on their training ground, schools, stadium and area around it, which is not counted by FFP

That's an actual 'real' sponsorship deal. These aren't.

These are bullshit as the benefactors paying the money through one of their other companies to cover money already spent.

No real company would pay that amount of money as it would make no commercial sense

I know that, what I'm getting at is that if these deals go through (Man City's deal seems 'legit') then this leaves the door open for others to exploit the system.

Good for them. The more I hear about FFP the more I think it's just a way for the Utd's and Madrid's to kill off any potential competition. If they really wanted Financial Fair Play then they would be advocating wage and transfer caps. Of course they don't want that, they want it to be like the old days when they outspend everyone else year in year out.

Don't worry FFP will work perfectly how Platini envisioned it. He will threaten clubs with expulsion from the CL, they will then offer him a big brown envelope stuffed with Euros, he will then turn a blind eye.
