Interesting story here about Puma. Feyenoord released pictures of their new kits for the 09/10 season. The Feyenoord fans were not at all happy about the new kit designs and let both Puma and the Club know about it!

Puma is willing to listen to the sea of complaints about the new 09/10 Feyenoord shirts. The German kit manufacturer said it will be making adjustments to the design, after a storm of protest.

On numerous websites and through many angry e-mails to Puma and the Rotterdam club itself , the new design was overloaded with criticism.
Main complaint is that the puma shirts are not looking like classic Feyenoord shirts, with the two futuristic stripes around the shoulders. The collar is an "ugly shame`" according to many fans.

'' We are looking at all the reactions and comments,'' says Puma. , "We will try to follow up with a good classic design so that the shirts for next 09-10 season are good and decent.''

Puma were true to their word and have now revised the design:

Yes the difference is not massive but it's reassuring to hear that Puma are willing to listen to the feedback from fans and act accordingly. Afterall it's in both theirs and the fans interest to produce a kit fans are happy with and proud to wear.

Though I must admit, the more new Puma kits I see, the more frustrated I get with them for using the same damn template whether it suits the club or not!

Roll on the yellow streak debate when ours gets launched!

They've hardly changed it though. Its nice to see they actually listened though. Strange that the new one has a new sponsor though.

You'd think they'd be more annoyed about Feyenoord being a total shower of shit.

Isn't this General Football?

Haha. The funny thing is, I much prefer the first kits.

The thing is, as their home kit is comprised of two colours, they can do something with that ridiculous V thing that at least doesnt stand out too much AND sticks with their traditional colour scheme.

The supposed plans for our kit feature a navy or yellow V, the latter of which has no place on our home kit as well as that crazy egg-shell like collar, which also looks terrible.

If they HAVE to have the V collar on our shirt, hopefully they can make it white so it doesnt stand out, as they have done in the Feyenoord shirts, otherwise we are going to be at the lane thinking we are watching Real Zaragoza.

I dont quite understand why the major kit manufacturers dont provide a questionnaire in the matchday programmes towards the end of each season, that would help them design the following seasons kit.

Surely its in their interest for their apparel to appeal to the highest amount of fans.

Good idea, didn't Middlesborough do that?

Now that we've seen the pics of our new kit, I wonder if something similar might happen seeing as the general reaction appears to be a little negative (and I think ours are worse than Feyenoords!)
