"Levy said that we would definitely be selling naming rights of the new stadium and it won't be WHL, he said it is a huge project that we must finance without jeopardising the playing squad.

Someone asked about Arsenal struggling to but players when they were paying off the stadium. Levy batted it away saying that we plan to finance the stadium with multiple revenue stream and it won't effect our commitment to improve the playing squad"

I really believe this is true. I think that Enic really will have studied how Arsenal funded their stadium and how and where they got it wrong. I hope they have some clever plans up their sleeve and I think we should trust them on it.
I think Arsenal's experience will definitely have been well studied by Levy and his team, but I still think he's being slightly disingenuous. He said, when the stadium was first announced that it would have no impact on the money for transfers, yet we've had a positive net spend for years. I think we're saving beforehand so we can access our new spending power sooner than Arsenal did, which is a good strategy, but it's definitely going to have an effect.

I remember how excited people were about the NFL deal, thinking that would pay off the stadium, still a good deal but its a damp squid compared to how people were going on about it. Tbf Levy didn't say it was going to fund the stadium in a maor way.

It's not about funding it right now, it's about generating a higher income once we're in.

I don't think you can underestimate the NFL deal. While it might not be a massive commitment financially from the NFL, the exposure it will generate, mainly in the U.S, for the club and the new ground, will enable Levy to milk the stadium naming rights and sponsorship deals.

We are still spending lots of money on transfers. We are just funding them differently to how we used to. Some seem obsessed with our net spend when it means absolutely nothing as far as the quality of the team, and how it improves is concerned.

I wish people would give up with the net spend fascination. Has net spend helped United, Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea pull away?

Any 'IT crowd' fans out there?

I'm not saying we have to have a massive net spend necessarily, only that before the stadium project we would put more money towards transfers - so there has been a "stadium effect" dispite Levy saying otherwise.

There has been a change of strategy and nothing more imo. We are still making the required signings, and have also been ploughing millions into the academy for instance. It's all been very well documented in the clubs accounts. We have not been stock piling cash for the stadium at the expense of transfers.

I've just seen this thread. Did anyone ask about the new loyalty points system and if Levy really wanted to keep his loyal fan base as he mentioned, why would the club shit on the most loyal of them all?

I like Levy by the way. Done a very good job overall, obviously a few mistakes along the way. For me, this is the biggest (if he had final say on it). I used to be able to get any game at all, now I can't even get Palace or Watford away. I know that's for another thread but was the LP mentioned at all?
