So a young lad my boy used to play with got sent off playing Sunday league football(under 16), but is also due to play in a cup final next week for a Saturday Under 18 team. From what I've been told he threw a punch at a player who had him two hands round the throat(still got the marks 2 days later) so whilst there are mitigating circumstances the red card can't be appealed and the players dad accepts retaliation is a straight red. He's just asked if I could find out the answer, will the red card carry into a different competition in a different league structure. I know a guy at the county FA but I don't want to highlight the case if I'm honest, in case it's missed going through 2 branches of the association. I guess the question is does the red card carry between leagues as I don't believe they are run by the same county FA?
I feel for him a bit because it's one of those. It's wrong and deserves a ban, but I think most of us would have done similar in the same circumstances, I know I probably would.
