"Tim is out against Wigan. He has broken two bones in his back," Everton manager David Moyes said. "He has two fractures, but they are not bones that are supporting anything. It is off the spine. They are not weight-bearing. It just needs a bit of healing time.

The don't know how long they will be out, but this could shake up the table. Their remaining fixtures include City and us within the next few weeks, then Arsenal and Chelsea. Hopefully he is out until after our fixture, then can make a quick return to form ;)

Bones not supporting anything?

Side note how to boneless chickens manage to walk about or do they just sit there?

Bit of a dent in our chances after today. We'll obviously still be favourites over Arsenal, but I'm seriously worried. If (when?) they win their game in hand, they'll only be 4 points behind us, and their fixtures are so easy, I don't see them losing many, even to Utd who will probably field a B team at that point. Chelsea will finish 3rd IMO.

Squeaky bum time.

How do you know? Oh, you don't.

So easy - my arse

Stop winging and get behind the team - we have a good one.

Teams in relegation are dead dangerous this time of year. No easy fixtures during this part of the season.

Being Spurs we could very well cock it all up again.

But it's also reasonable to say that we could beat Fulham next weekend while Arsenal lose (or at least drop points) at Swansea putting us 10 points clear with them having to beat Everton in their game in hand. They could also very well have Liverpool snapping at their heels meaning they can't relax as they have nothing to lose.

Just as was the case after the win against Arsenal, there is still a long way to go. We probably have the toughest run-in of ourselves, Arsenal and Chelsea, but we've got the ability to pick up results. It'll probably go down to the last day of the season.

Can't believe the doom and gloom on here. They showed the form table AFTER yesterday's game and we were second only to United. Yes we lost yesterday but that was purely down to two brain farts. We were in Complete control of the game until then. It was pure relief for Liverpool at the end. They won't admit it but they are still miles behind us.

Chelsea have got major fixture congestion on the horizon, plus our game against them could be rearranged so breaking up the run of 3 games.

Arsenal could go either way but haven't really shown any consistency this season and opposing teams don't fear them, not even at the emirates.

Everton may get a kick up the arse after Sarurday, but their run is even harder than ours.

Liverpool. Got lucky yesterday. Very lucky. Rogers claiming he changed the game brining on Allen. I watched the game again yesterday, their goal was the first chance they had in the 2nd half. They were clueless and sinking fast, Suarez resorting to his dirty tricks again. They still have Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle to play

Keep the faith people.

Lets hope Liverpool get 4th because they won't catch us so we'll be third.
Think of all the arsenal fans who had come to terms with the disappointment and now have just a little hope to taunt them just to be dashed all over again.

As frustrating as the defeat was yesterday, I'd be a lot more worried if we had been outplayed and heavily beaten. The players and AVB know full well that we were good enough to win but were undone by some ridiculous mistakes. The manner of the defeat should act as a motivation for the rest of the season, whereas a heavy defeat can put some doubts in heads. We need to get through against Inter and then concentrate on Fulham, no complacency, we must win that game to banish any negative thoughts creeping in. It's in our own hands, forget about other teams run in and concentrate on ourselves and what we need to do.

Be interesting to see our response to our first league defeat in 2013.

Our next 3 league games are Fulham at home, away to Swansea then home to Everton. We are capable of getting 7-9 points from these games.

Maybe Defoe is not fit but we need a performance from him.

That'd be awful. Liverpool are the last team I want back in the Champion's League - not only do they not deserve it as they were fucking shite yesterday, but they are suffering financially and the last thing we need is for them to catch up again and make it a 5-way fight for the top for with Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and us.

Liverpool can sink off and die for all I care. Horrible club, horrible players, arrogant fish-faced twat for a manager, and the worst fans on planet earth.

I agree. I hated they actions of the club during the whole Suarez saga.

There's a lot of talk about Liverpool on this board nowadays. We have 'Lets laugh at Liverpool threads' and they still get mentionned in this thread despite being a long way behind.

Their financial structure means they should be competing with us yet they are 9 points behind. The longer they stay out of the competition for CL places the better. At the moment 3 clubs are fighting for 2 spots, don't really want to add a 4th to the equation.

Before yesterday, and wearing my pessimist's hat, I reckoned we'd get 16 points from our final 10 games - 4 wins (Fulham, Southampton, Wigan and Sunderland), 4 draws (Swansea, Everton, Man City and Stoke) and 2 defeats (Scousers and Chavs). As I say, I think that's a pretty pessimistic scenario but would still leave us on 70 points. I don't how many times, if ever, 70 points has failed to get 4th place but it can't be many. So I still think 4th place is ours to lose.
PS With my optimist's hat on, I do believe we'll finish 3rd!

That would require Arsenal to get 23 points meaning they need 7 wins and 2 draws or 8 wins from 10 games. Just shows really how much of a task it is for Arsenal, even though they are now giving it the big talk saying they'll get the gap down to 4.

A few years ago, I read an article about prayers could indeed be helpful to the sick if numerous people are praying for them. So if all of us stop thinking the negative and express our wish and faith for success for our beloved Spurs, the yang thus generated will hopefully help influence the performance of our players and help to achieve victory.

My point being that they won't catch us so if they get fourth they'd have beaten chelsea and we'd definitely be third.

Something tells me this post is about to be circulated around most other teams forums under the thread "let's laugh at spuds".
