I would if they didn't have 13 players out injured and Mensah not being able to play because of him being on loan.
Itcould be too much to ask of them but you never know.
They should play that Sorloth guy in the middle instead of Benteke. He looked a bit of a handful playing on the left against us. Benteke has the yips.

Maybe bring Nya Kirby to play wide.

Still all too close for comfort and would like to see us taking more of the chances we are creating. However we showed last season that we know how to finish well and that will give the players confidence. I predicted second place and don’t see any reason why we can’t do that

The thing about United is that they always give up big chances. It's just a matter of whether or not De Gea bails them out. If Palace can defend somewhat reasonably, they'll be in with a chance.

Only if you place no value on league position whatsoever, unless you finish top. Which would be absolutely crazy.

By that logic, every campaign under Poch is no better or worse than every godawful 90s / early 00s season.

We finished 3rd that year. That's not why we remember it being special it was winning the cup.

Chelsea with both us and Liverpool at home left, as well as away games vs. Burnley, Newcastle, Soton and Swansea.

Would say that their only "easy" remaining fixtures are West Ham and Huddersfield at home. Palace at home is also a game you'd fancy them getting over the line.

I see enough points dropped that even us losing at the Bridge wouldn't be an absolute disaster.

Im not sure about that. Sure they might have been woeful yesterday but they are still a good side. I can see then winning all those games if push came to shove. Especially Burnley, as they are almost on the beach. Newcastle can be a grind but they are good enough to beat them, southampton are terrible and swansea, although in good form, won't be strong enough for them.

Therefore I think its imperative we get at least a point in the game against them. Its as much of a 6 pointer as the Liverpool game was last month.

You just watch Liverpool and United both completely bottle it and let City win the league.

That's how it works, right?

He said if one of those three gets injured, one of the other two will step up.

He contrasted that with if Kane gets injured they only have Llorente.

More likely Chelsea who are really reliant on Hazard.

Shearer is right though, Liverpool would not miss Salah as much as we would miss Kane and Chelsea would miss Hazard, Or Arsenal would miss a CM and defence.

Fancy Palace to get something tonight.

I generally find that if Spurs struggle (to score) against a team, if a fixture like this one with Utd going there, they will hit 3 or 4 past them making me question why the fuck did we leave it to last minute.

You watch.

2-1 to Palace.

Haven't Salah's goals won them just as many, if not more points than Kane's have for us? Firmino and Mane are not consistent enough scorers to accommodate the loss of Salah if he missed a few games.

About more than goals though. Liverpool still play the same way without him. Without Kane we have to play through a very static Llorente. Agree the differences are not great though, especially now we have Lamela fit again and Moura to inject some pace. Would quite like to see Dele given a go at CF with Son, Moura, Eriksen/Lamela behind him in Kane's next absence.

Palace weren't even very good against us, we should have won 3 or 4-0. Pretty sure United will murder them unfortunately.

I completely disagree with what shearer says, if they lost Salah who do they have to step in? Lallana has been injured and out of form, Ings? Solanke? woodburn? when they had coutinho they could at least re-jig their midfield. Son has been affective playing up front for us and if Kane is out for a long period I think Llorente (with an extended run) would show his worth. Outside of pools current front 3 they don’t have any decent back ups

Think they’d move Ox forward if either Salah or Mane went down. Not sure if it were Firmino.

Thank you I was thinking it was actually a bizarre opinon that no one seemed to have questioned, who in fact do Liverpool have as cover say if Salah went down? There's actually no-one, whilst we'd most probably put Son up front and Lamela or Lucas would take his place.
