Surely we are all oin agreement. If we dont beat west brom we need Liverpool to beat chelsea. If we beat west brom then any result in the liv v chavs game is good

No way dude. We beat Brom we are 8 points ahead of Chelsea, including Liverpool game they'd have 3 games left and a possible 9 points. We lose our remaining two and they win their's they'd beat us by a single point.

Back to school for you please.

Chelsea winning if we win is best result. Will keep the pressure on Liverpool (expecting them to get to cl final) to keep playing full team in the league or risk losing 4th to Chelsea.

I agree. I think it all depends on how confident we are that we will not lose another game this season.

If we beat Brom best result is a draw, eliminates Chelsea from our equation, and we would be strong favs for 3rd. If we don't beat Brom then we all need to be Scouse fans for the day.

want a Liverpool win, dont want to worry about CL more than we need to
and if we win our last 3 games we get 3rd anyway, 3rd 4th is no real difference anyway

If Chelsea beats Liverpool, then we can still afford to lose one of our last three games (and win the other two games) and still finish 3rd in the table.

I just want CL qualification secured before the final game v Leicester. The most I want riding on that game is the opportunity to finish 3rd.

Isn’t that the same if they draw?

I’d rather the draw. Less pressure.

No that's not true, this has been gone over so many times Im shocked it's still a thing .

Liverpool would have to finish 5th and win the cl as well as arsenal winning the el

In this clown scenario Chelsea would have also had to finish 3rd with us finishing 4th

I misread original post - I figured that’s what it meant.

Either way, let’s finish 3rd and it’s not a problem

Can anyone confirm 4th misses out on cl if Arsenal and Liverpool win cl and Europa?

Yes, so let’s just finish 3rd

4th only misses out if the CL winners AND the EL winners both finish outside the top 4. The point being that the maximum number of teams from one country is 5. So if Liverpool were to win the CL and finish 5th in the PL with Chelsea in 4th place, and Arsenal were to win the EL, then Chelsea would lose out on CL and drop to the EL.

EDIT: And I would laugh so hard I'd need an ambulance!

If we win v WBA then anything but a win for Chelsea away to Liverpool on Sunday sees us qualify for next season’s Champions League. Therefore, if all goes to plan on Saturday, I want Sunday to be a draw, securing us fourth st worst but also keeping us ahead of Liverpool with two games remaining to their one. That way, a win v Newcastle sees us wrap up third and makes the Leicester game immaterial.

If possible I want Liverpool to miss out on CL. Them to finish 5th, and then I'll enjoy being in CL for the final to see them lose that.
