Hello

i've the same feeling for AVB current summer with Juande Ramos ..
i asked myself which those things ? the answers were a lot ( apart from the fact Ramos took over from half season, not summer )

Replacing successful Manager :
  • AVB Succeed a manager who made the best finishes for Spurs for more than decade ( Harry )
  • most fans loved Harry, and feel it's really harsh to sack him ( Harry )
both things happened when we replaced Jol with Juande Ramos.

The Manager reputation :
  • Both of Ramos & AVB won the 2nd competition in 'UEFA cup/Eroupa League'
  • both manager came from south Eroupe, Spain & Portugal.

Top players :
  • the best three players are linked with away moves ( Modric - Van Der Vaart - Bale ) looks like the first two to leave & Bale to stay ..
under Ramos those top three were ( Berbatov - Keane - Lennon ) and the first two left and Lennon stayed.

Shape new squad :
  • Ramos spend more than £70m on new players, it could be that case if Modric sold.
  • thought about upgrading GK options, that's happened with selling Robinson & signing Gomes, so news about the club trying to invest in Llores for £15m ?
  • signing a lot of players unproven in the league: Modric & Giovani would be that case with Oscar, Remy ?
  • spending a money for someone shined with a team finished in Middle-table, we bought David Bentley, could be that case Sigordsson ?
  • selling some useful players, in that time we sold Chimbonda, Tainio & Malbranque, we sold Corluka, Kranjcar & looks like Pienear or Giovani is off, even those Ramos outs left for one club, it could be a bit funny of one more left east Eroupe countries.

Working under Director of football :
  • it could be really that case if Tim Sherwood really promoted from his old post.

Please don't be that case !
  • at the start of the season, we found ourselves with only one striker in Darren Bent, whatever if Adebayor deal is almost done or not, I'm afraid Defoe is willing to leave ..
  • a player refused to play just because he wants to move away, the club trying to get the best possible deal, in Berbatov ? i hope if Modric is going, this should be as early before 1 Aug.
  • fixture? first away match away from home, both games vs Tyne-Tees clubs. Under Ramos we lost to Middlesbrough.
  • results? 2 points from 8 games under Ramos. Wish AVB wouldn't give the cups priorities like JR.
Negatives :
  • AVB time at Chelsea, not enough experience in EPL.
  • selling top players, plus a lot of changes expected in starting XI, with some players could be new to EPL.
Positives :
  • at least AVB work in EPL before, and he has something to prove.
  • The players are more experienced than before: Dawson, Kaboul, Ekotto, Huddlestone & Lennon, Plus Parker & Adebyor if resigned. Bale is undoubtly better player. Bale is also better play than Lennon ( when Ramos took-over ) in terms of top players stayed.
  • Walker & Sandro already good players here with potential, unlike Hutton & Zokora were under-performing.
cheers !

We won a trophy under Ramos and we did it in style, if AVB can match that and get us 4th to 6th in the league I'll be happy with that.

They are both strict authoritarian's which didn't really work at Spurs under Ramos.

They both love to tinker with the formation during a game which can confuse less sophisticated players.

I hope AVB does well but I think his success depends on the quality of players he brings in this summer. Harry and AVB seemed to have the opposite effect on player confidence last season.

Personally I think this is Levy's way of regaining control over the club after Harry disagreed with him on transfer policy. The only manager to stand up to him and the first to get us into the top 4.

I hope you get this right Daniel!

There are a lot of similarities so far except just one, this time we seem to know what we're doing.

Oh my God, the coincidences!

It gets worse. I looked it up.

Did you know that AVB once drove to the Lincoln theatre in a Ford car and Ramos once went to the Ford theatre in a Lincoln car? Ooooooh. Scary!

And did you know that AVB and Ramos BOTH have hair? I'm really frightened now, because... because if they both have hair, then... then... it must mean that Spurs are going to crash and burn under AVB.

Don't tell anyone, but I once saw a picture of AVB. And then a little while before that, I saw a picture of Ramos.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH

I didnt think it was Harsh to sack Jol, we were dying on a feet that season, and were mostly poor the season before that apart from the brillance of berbaslag who along with keane single handly almost fluked us into 5th.

As the Redknapp, well there were many times at the end of this season that most of the board wanted him out

I remember going to a fantastic 0-0 against Wigan, £60 well spent :/
Haha! My mate was there. Come the next season he buys a ticket for Wigan-Spurs, decides that seeing as he went to the same fixture last year he'll give me the ticket for my birthday which was 3 days later. That game ended 9-1, fuck his luck!

The Lane was like a morgue when Ramos was in charge .

AVB surely wouldn't take the fun factor out of Tottenham like Ramos did .

I don't think it's AVB we have to worry about .

The problems are likely to come from Levy , Damian Sherwood and a return to the D.O.F. management structure .

Edit : Levy has a lot of political capital riding on this becoming a long term success . He's likely to have to increase the transfer and wage budget more than he thinks to give a margin of safety on the pitch .
