A great game. I am estatic!

Lloris 7 -- A quiet game by his standards and not at fault for the goal. Saved well from Welbeck and was his usual dependable self. Showed huge passion and fight urging the players on.

Walker 7 -- He made some great attacking runs and got into some good positions, but end product not always up to scratch and needs to work on the passing. Caught out of position for their goal.

Dier 7 -- A bit shaky at times but grew into the game and had an excellent second half. He looks so composed and mature, well beyond his years. Looks just about ready for the big time.

Vertonghen 7 -- He was commanding at times and looks back to his best. As the senior CB I'd like to see him organize the defense more, A lot of the time it was Hugo barking out orders to players.

Rose 8 -- Look he would have got a 9 from me except for being left for dust by Welbeck. OK he got turned badly but then he didn't chase and just gave up running. Otherwise he was outstanding. He really tore Arsenal up on their right flank. A command performance from the little man! He should of made better effort when crossing and shooting but you have to love his feisty personality and he got in Arsenal's face all afternoon. They struggled to control him. His running fued with Welbeck that ended up in the tunnel at HT was testament to the emotions at play on the day.

Mason 9 -- MOTM This was one manic performance. First half he was all over the shop and I thought here we go - its RED card time. His tackling was loose and the passes even looser. But then he settled down and in the second half he was outstanding. The tackles he won were superb and he pressed for all he was worth. He was the fulcrum, the nexus for all the energy and drive and really kept up the tempo. A hugely influential performance that is going to give Roy Hodgson a woody for a few days to come. FFS this was the lanky spindly kid who was a brilliant attacking AM in the making but who was as fragile as porcelain. How the fuck did he become an all action playmaker and a tough tackling tyro **** in a CM2??

Bentaleb 8 -- What can I say. He was cool under pressure and a commanding physical presence. His passing was excellent, a lovely cross for the winner and his brilliant positioning and overall competitiveness must be seriously impressive enough to leave Wenger wondering how we got a French youth international of such quality from under his nose. This boy is going to be world class one day if he continues developing like this. Lovely central pairing with Mason. Bossed the park all afternoon.

Lamela 7.5 -- Wonderful wicked corner assist for the Harry Kane goal. I thought he started nervously but got better as the game went on. Had a superb second half and worked very hard. He brings so much to the team. He runs all day, he fights for every ball and the opposition double up on him constantly leaving gaps elsewhere. He lost the ball too easily at times and his creative output was lacking in this game but his pressing and energy was superb. He tied up Arsenals left flank and took them out as an attacking threat.

Dembele 7.5 He needs to release the ball quicker and there were instances where he dallied but he is a conservative player who hates losing possession. However, he was a key member of the attacking four and his his ability to retain possession in those areas higher up the pitch was key in terms of sustaining the pressure we brought to bear. He was another who got better in the second half. His header off that wickedly whipped in corner from Lamela to the near post was instrumental to Kane's equaliser causing absolute panic to Arsenals defense. A commanding game all in all. He has to stay in that central AM role, he and we as a team, are made for it.

Eriksen 7--While he worked hard, pressed and passed the ball well in our link up play I thought he had a subdued game. I found he was overshadowed on the left by Danny Rose who made that flank his own for much of the game. Once again his set pieces could of been better and I am glad Lamela is taking some of the corners now. Still had time for some exquisite flicks and dummy runs that took Arsenal players out of position so easily.

Kane 8.5 -- Well that header was sublime. What a way to end the game. He was full of running and crackling energy. He was a thorn in the side of Arsenal's defense and bossed them with his strength and physical presence. The boy has filled out some and the rapid rate at which he's developed is amazing. I love the composure and calmness he displays with a steely determination. But most importantly he has grown into a classic center forward. This lad is the center of attack because he has made himself the center. CF's were a dying breed until Harry Kane Esq came along. This lad is the heir to Martin Chivers except he is faster then Big Chiv. Chivers was a better dribbler but Harry has strength and pace and that rare quality the best CF's have. He has belief that he will always score. As Wenger said, if England don't give him a passport to play for the senior team - someone else will.

Poch 8 -- Excellent. Its all coming together. Slowly, slowly. Next season is going to be a blast. This season is fucking awesome as well but you can see an end game that is a few months away yet. But his fingerprints are all over this. There is a fight and a determination to win from everyone in this team. There is no one who hides anymore. And they are playing for him because they believe in him. I think he has won the battle of hearts and minds. Now he has to work on the execution. We are still a team in the process of being transformed into Pochettino's design of the modern high tempo attacking and pressing team. This is not tiki taka - this is a relentless siege played at its lung busting best. Still a work in progress, but what progress! We will still hit the lows occasionaly but this is looking very nice indeed.

Subs - All good. Cant complain as they did their jobs.

Oppo 6 -- We had them in our pockets all game. This was a convincing win. Not undeserved at all. It was not a stumblebum oops we made it at the death or I just won the lottery type win. This was total dominance. Yes they are a very good side but it wasn't that they played badly. We just arse fucked them. I thought Wenger's remarks about soft goals was ungracious and insulting. They didn't switch off. They were fucking terrified and the panic when Lamela whipped in that corner was there for all to see when Kane then scored the equaliser. By this time they were crumbling and it was so easy to see the battering was taking effect.

I am excited now. i want more!

And for all you trolls in the match thread dissing Mason, Lamela, Rose and Dembele. Here's a little something for you as well :poop::poop: :D

perhaps I'm deluded by a pro-Spurs bias, but I thought the BBC ratings were a little bit bizarre http://www.itv.com/news/2015-02-07/player-rating-spurs-2-1-arsenal/
They gave all our players - and Arsenals - 6s and 7s, except Kane 9. 6 for Mason and 7 for Ozil. It was my impression that we were actually a lot better than them pretty much up and down the lineup, but perhaps I'm delusionl...or the BBC rater is...

The Sunday Times gave Mason a 6 this morning. Like seriously, what the fuck! They gave Bentaleb an 8 and Kane a 9.

They gave Ozil a 3 though and Cazorla a 4. I know Coquelin was their best player (7) but how do you give him a higher rating than Mason?

3 for Ozil is a bit harse, 4 for Cazola is not far from the mark. And Coquelin was good for a 7 (the only Arse player near that, in my opinion). But the 6s for Mason were hard to understand. It's true his passes were all over the place at times, but his ball-winning and harrying were fantastic. He just needs to be told to make simple passes to someone close to him, I guess...

Kane does it week in week out too (when he's played as the lone striker)

Yes - he has been absolutely the shining light of our season. There are and will be occasions however when he doesn't score or can't impact the game, but Lloris seems time and time again to keep making out-of-this-world saves. And the media rarely compliment him on them. De Gea makes one good save in a game and everyone's up in arms about how good he is. The fact that Lloris does it every match he plays seems not to register in his favour.

The lack of hype may work in favour but I worry how much longer we can hold onto someone of his class.

The MoM was a tough choice and logically Kane wins it - but I wanted to show my appreciation for HL. That save from Wellbeck's shot was almost as good as the save from Ashley Young's curler.

You think we've peaked already?

It's all downhill from here folks!!

I don't really know what you mean, I think that's as good as a performance as we are going to get yes. However we can certainly still become more consistent.

A couple of stray passes in the first 20 minutes shouldn't take away from what was a superb midfield performance. A 6 is frankly laughable.

I think appreciation of Lloris's talent and his importance to us goes without saying amoungst all Spurs fans

I agree. Our 0 pound transfer fee mf of Mason and Bentaleb was absolutely fantastic again - especially considering the level they were playing at just one year ago (Mason at Swindon, Bentaleb in the youth team). Same of course can be said for Kane. Someone(s) is doing something right in our coaching/talent identification setup.

Fair enough. Read like that performance was as good as we'll see under Poch. Personally, I think that it's only a glimpse of where we are heading.

Great performance by everyone.
Lamela didn't offer much creatively going forward but ran his nuts off which created space elsewhere and did well defensively. Slow improvement but improvement none the less. Keep it going.
Cant believe we played them off the pitch.
Loved seeing Poch fist pumping the air when we scored.
I feel there's a real team bonding ethic going on and that can make a hell of a difference, not just the players but the fans and Poch. Self belief is so important and we've got it. Even us fans have. We go one down now its, ok no problem, we're better than you so game on.
I can't believe how confident I feel going away to Anfield lol.
Id give everyone an 8, Kane a 9 and Lamela 7 (better but wanna see and expect to see more).

On the one side there's the physicality of Mauricio's approach
but he's not called the HEAD coach for nothing.

Had to be pleased with that! Thought that we were continually first to the ball and Poch certainly has them pressing well....hence even non-tacklers like Eriksen, Dembele and Lamela are getting their toe in to win it back quickly. He also has them playing at a distinct tempo allowing us to dominate forcing mistakes when the opposition tries to cover. Our headline better players such as Vert and Walker have also raised their game to where you would expect it to be. We genuinely have 14 nailed on starters in the squad while Stambouli, Fazio and Paulinho make us a side with great depth when pushed. WHL seemed to be rocking especially when we were behind....the away support for us seems to at last be translating to the home games. I believe that this was Arsenal at their most vulnerable for a while.... even though the commentators said they were using the Plan B that beat Citeh....we controlled the game keeping them pinned back. A dilemma for Poch is keeping fitness in the legs of the back up strikers Soldado and Ade....they will need minutes to do this. Didn't actually see Eriksen go central until Chadli replaced Dembele....this is where he needs to be in front of Bentaleb and Mason. A great feeling as a Tottenham fan to know that the world awakens to see and hear our Harry Kane's exploits....we are truly on the global stage and need to go on with it .........COYS!

Not sure why you have 2 'disagrees ' for this post. Everything you have said is 100% correct ...

Agree, I really hope Poch is not seriously considering playing Vorm at Wembley. No disrespect to Vorm who is a good keeper but it would be like leaving out Kane, Eriksen, Bentaleb or Vertonghen.

Jesus...other than scoring their goal I really can't think of any other time when Ozil did anything of note.

Just occurred to me...were we the only home side in the League to win this weekend?

If so, that's crazy lol. Has that ever happened before?

Another bizarre stat is not one team scored more than two goals either.

One thing that is irritating me no end is the media saying that arsenal started well! When? At what point did they play well? We started on top, they scored a goal, we continued to be on top. They had 3 attempts on goal and 3 corners. Our centre half's were playing in the number 10 position for crying out loud.

They were second best for the entire match, they never even had a 'spell' unless it was a spell when they weren't defending desperately on the edge of their box!

We smashed them, even more than we smashed Chelsea and 2-1 was very very flattering to them.

I remember thinking after about 55 min, is Ozil still bloody playing?
His face popped up a bit later and I thought oh, yeah he is. Who knew lol.
