I thought we played pretty well today against a resoloute side that came with all it's usual "resolve". How the fuck McCann wasn't booked for one of his 17 fouls only the man I euphamistically refer to as "the worst referee in the EPL" can answer. We dominated from start to finish and played some good football in the first half particularly. Ramos's substitutions had a detrimental effect I thought today. From playing some slick passing football we mutated in to desperado stuff once Bent came. Keane and Berbatov gradually moved less and less and we ended the game with Keane, Berbatov & Bent sharing a pair of shorts around the "D" with none of them breaking into anything faster than a medium walk. Today was a typical example of why we need someone like Modric. Ratings:

Cerny 5 - Not much to do, but fills me with only a wafer thin more confidance than Knobinson

Hutton 7.5 - Was playing really well, shame he had to go off.

Dawson 6 - was only a matter of time before one of his hoofs went badly pair. Usually he gives away possession a little further up the field.

Woodgate 7 - Solid enough

Gilberto 6.5 - Is it just me or is there something just a little casual about our Brazilian. Not 100% convinced. Did OK though.

Lennon 7 - worked hard today.

Jenas 7 - Worked hard.

Zokora 8 - Outstanding first half. worked really hard second half.

Malbranque 7 - Took his goal well enough but should have at least hit the target for second. Wasn't his best game but he always contributes.

Berbatov 6 - Bit disapointing today really. Tried hard at times but touch was off sync.

Keane FH8/SH4 = Ave.6 - Typical man for all seasons Keane today. Lively, busy active seasons in first half. Static, bottling, wasteful seasons second half.

Huddlestone 6 - Started brightly, faded.

Bent 4 - My opinion never changes. One trick pony. That trick is not going win trick of the year at the Cannes trick festival.

Ohara 5 - uuhhhmm. ok. ish.

Can't really disagree with too many of your ratings as you had the two guys that I thought played pretty well - Hutton/Zokora as our best players today!
To my mind although we dominated the game it was the same old problem from our wingers - Malbranque and Lennon are really pretty awful at putting decent balls into the front players -I know Malbranque works really hard and Lennon puts the defence on the back foot with his fantastic pace but the end result is just not good enough!
They both can really only play in a 4-4-2 system and I am not sure we will play that system next year - I really could'nt see them in a 4-3-3 system!
I hope not but they may well be surplus to the requirements of Ramos!

good comments BC - I was impressed with zokora today as well - and him and woodgate two candidates for MOTM
losng hutton (another good performance) in that half time fiasco may have cost us the match

Bolton were a disgrace to football - but what's new - it's a real pity if they stay up - they set out from the minute 1 to foul and frustrate and got away with it - partly as you say because of lenient refereeing

Berbs had one of his worst games for a while - terrible miss at the end-

Berbs missed two easy chances to put it away. I cant believe I watched that whole game, actually. Bolton is really pretty bad, and played us to a draw at the Lane. Next year cant come soon enough.

Cerny 5.5 Looked hesitant
Hutton 6 This guy attracts more fouls than Ronaldo
Dawson 5.5 Paid for woeful distribution
Woodgate 8 Hard to fault won evrything in the air
Gilberto 5 Very very ordinary
Lennon 7 Involved
Jenas 6 Poor distribution looked worried
Zokora 6.5 Hard to fault. Will play where he is told
Malbranque 6.5 Honest endevour
Keane 6 McGann at least stopped him talking for a minute
Berbatov 7 Deserved more today. Enjoy him while we can.
Huddlestone 6 Strange decision to bring him on at CB.....it meant that his passes were all 20 yards plus
O'Hara 6.5 I think he will survive the purge if only because he tries his heart out and has a left foot
Bent 5 Genuinely clueless on team play
Ramos 6.5 Thought he would go 3 at the back at one stage against 1 up front. Has a red pencil for half of these players

As you say, the original idea was to go three at the back, leaving Woody to deal with their lone striker, but Megson switched to a 4-4-2 and the Hudd was forced to sit further back.

Some truly dire finishing, Berbatov and Bent being the worst culprits.

Funny thing SS57, in a game that really did not mean that much to Spurs I am surprised that Ramos did not do it anyway......defending you always need plus one......1 v 0,
2 v 1, 3 v 2 ....I suppose I'm splitting hairs here but having Huddlestone so deep took away our one passing hope for a win.

I'm actually surprized that Juande didn't start with Woodgate & Huddlestone at CB, given Bolton's near total lack of attacking ambition. With Woody keeping Rasiak in his pocket, Big Tom could have stepped up occasionally and started dictating the tempo from the beginning of the game - rather than trying to impose himself from half-time onwards.

That said, of the players who many of us think are being judged for next season, I think Dawson probably confirmed his limitations to Ramos and may well be on his way if we sign any of Cata Diaz, Jarque or Garay. Personally, if we sign a top CB to compete with Woody and Ledley, then I would rather keep Kaboul. But his total and utter disappearance from the first team squad suggests he'll be sold like YP Lee at the end of the season.

It's a really strange one with Kaboul. He would seem to have all the right ingredients to become a real star. Physically and technically he looks excellent. Just needs to mature a little and grow into the pace of the English game.

Looks to take games by the scruff of the neck (arguably this characteristic should see him becoming a defensive midfielder rather than centre back... his surging runs down the wing are a little worrying when leaving Dawson on his own at the back!), a potential leader and a winner.

Very, very strange if we let him go on anything more than a loan after just a season.

"Knobinson"

What's the point?

Yep, Robbo didn't even play today and looks certain to leave in the summer. Maybe insults are inappropriate at this point. He'll probably be pretty disappointed with how things seem to be working out - looks like he really loves (loved?) our club. So he lost some form, he was still pretty much ever present in our side that made Europe twice through the league and won a trophy (2 if you count the prestigious Peas Cup).

Thought Huddlestone was absolutely pants to be honest.Cant believe some people have given him higher marks than Gilberto who i think had pretty solid game.

you see I don't wanna keep writing about JJ - but when he gets a 3 from someone - and yet at the same the Telegraph gives him MOTM with 8 and his stats showed he made the most passes of all spurs players 93 - with the highest accuracy of all spurs players 95% - then I just have to pt my two cents in :)

I saw the game live and in full - for me he was a 6
