Walker for me both offensively and defensively he was solid today. A few passes that he played as well where we should of scored 3. That pass to Alli was pin point perfect! Certainly doesn't look like Clyne's under study to me.

Unpopular opinion but wasn't happy with Hugo. His saves were fantastic, but he put us under pressure several times with exceptionally poor distribution.

Thought Davies was immense. They couldn't get anything down his side and he even won several 50/50 headers against Pele who is a very tough aerial customer.

I think every player was excellent. Lloris made some fantastic saves, Defence was solid, midfield worked hard, Kane was all over the place and a great goal, great team effort.

Just to be different I gave MOTM to Ben Davies, rarely troubled and looked comfortable on the ball all game, didn't put a foot wrong for me. I think the ratings will be all over the place as it was just a great team effort

Lloris - 9
Walker - 8

Dembele - 9
Lamela - 8
Ali - 7
Eriksen - 7
Kane - 8

A really strong defensive performance which was led by our captain and vice captain, Vertonghen. I loved the way that Lloris started screaming at his defence after 15 mins, that really seemed to wake them up.

I think Koeman was being extremely ambitious in his game plan which was to play exactly the same way we do. For the first 30 minutes they were stopping us from pressing by throwing their players at us aggressively, they pressed our press. Ultimately that to me was their downfall, as they played us at our own game fairly well, but they just didn't have the energy to replicate it after the 40 minute mark. I think we won this game because in its most basic form, we're a fitter team than Southampton.

Lamela, Ali and Kane were fantastic for the first goal and that highlights just how important it is to get the first goal when you're using up so much energy when closing down, as the saints couldn't really recover from that.

Walker put a good ball in and we profited from their poor defending with a tidy finish from Ali. Although that said, I thought Ali should play a bit better then today, but perhaps I am being harsh. Dembele and Lamela are head to head as our player of the season so far, as they're such workhorses and chase everything. A lot of talk goes for Harry Kane possibly getting injured, but I really think that if we lost Lamela or Dembele to injury, we'd be in a hell of a lot of trouble.

I'd personally like Lamela to take a few more freekicks and Eriksen's recent ones seem to be not getting past the wall. Davies deserves a mention too, he is not as dynamic as Danny Rose, but he seems really calm in everything he does. He is not as good as Danny, but I think he is a very strong second option.

Good performance all round and it was good to see that Poch hasn't made a scapegoat out of Carroll by bringing him on for the last 15/20. Great to be in the top four heading into Christmas however it is now a must to win the next few games and capitalise on United's inconsistency.

Last week we bossed the first half went ahead and were outplayed in the second and lost.
This week we were bossed in the first half, scored twiceand played well in the second, kept a clean sheet and won.
Loss and a win better than two draws. Two wins better still. I worked that out all on my own.

Pochettino.....Can't say he exactly got them up for it but a determined performance.

Lloris............8.......Two great saves and took on the captain's role when required.
Walker..........7........Think the boy is getting a grip on himself. Fine assist (if intended)
Alderweireld..7+......No waffle from this Belgian. Workmanlike.
Vertonghen...8........Shades his partner today. So that's 'waffles are off love'.
Davies...........7+......Started uncertainly but improved as the game went on.
Dembele........8.......Strong on the ball. Belgian Chocolate hard nut centre
Dier...............7.........Normal service renewed.
Alli.................7........+1 for the goal. -1 for the yellow card. Can't help but like him. Positivity catching
Eriksen..........7.........Keeps it ticking nicely. Dead ball better but still hit and miss.
Lamela...........7+......Poch 's style personified. Persistance led to second goal.
Kane..............7........Striker. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Lovely goal. Grit and precision.

Carroll.....Well Poch certainly doesn't hold him responsible for last week and rightly so. Done good.

MOM probably Lloris especially after last week. Verts and Dembele good.

Dembele. We seem to be at our most competitive whenever we play him in a midfield 3...

Good to be back on track.

lamela was my motm with dembele close behind mainly due to just how much effort lamela put in and also of course his neat play. I can see why he is picked so often now as his aggression, passing skill and attitude is just brilliant and really combines well with the same that kane, eriksen and dembele also do.

MOTM for me was Lamela, closely followed by Dembele.

I can't get over how much of a shift Lamela puts in. He deserves so much credit for becoming more than flare and really is an aggressive SOB.

Dembele played immensely again and loved the way Dele and himself switched back and forth. I personally like him playing up higher and Dele coming in from behind as a late runner into the box.

Eriksen deserves some plaudits too because he didn't shy away and was really involved as the game went on.

Defense was solid although we did have shaky moments.

Good three points verse a more talented squad than Newcastle. Southampton should be higher than they currently are.

Also credit to Poch.

Many complain about his lack of a "plan B" but he does know how to move things about when it's not working. We started poorly and he swapped Dembele and Alli and then again swapped Alli with Eriksen, which seemed to be the winning move as directly after putting Alli at LWF we put in two very nice goals and Alli went from looking poor to looking quite good.

The defence was great, but Jan stood out. He was excellent.

The difference Dembele makes in terms of us winning, protecting and holding onto possession is just ridiculous.

Good win.

Oh and Kane won't get the credit he deserves for his goal because the defenders looked like mugs and the pundits will focus on that. However the two little body movements and touches of the ball were what made a fool of those two defenders - it was just magical play from Harry.

Amazing goal.

He gets so much criticism but his work rate really is second to none. Add to that the quality of his passing and you have possibly the most important player to our system.

He uses the ball so well now and is having a great season.

I was impressed by the performance and the way we controlled the game.

Top 4 at Christmas is excellent with pool, chelski and utd below us.
