Just got back from the game! Long way back to bournemouth. Where's all the ratings? I can't be arsed either, but a few comments:

Holtby MOTM, kaboul gets special mention for that immense run through their entire team. Carroll was good, and although a mixed bag I thought Siggy did well - some nice moments but also went missing at times. Seems harsh to rate him as one of the worst. Townsend was very predictable today IMO. Friedel spent most of the second half doing gardening in his area. Sandro is funny guy, jumped up like Bruce lee having been knocked down in 2nd half, and played well I thought. Naughton wasn't really up to scratch. Defoe took his goals well. Those unmentioned were all fine.

Sandro for me. Epic bravery and warrior like attributes. Started off at least the first two goals from aggressive challenges; not sure about the 3rd as I can't remember it's source before Carroll.

Either way everyone put in a professional performance and Holtby & Carroll were also up there!

Sig wasn't really MOTM but I voted for him anyway. Thought he had another frustrating night but was still trying, got an assist, pre-assist and almost a goal. I really think there is a player in there somewhere but at the moment he is low on confidence and just manages to trip over himself.

Holtby was great. Lot's of space though... let's see how he does in the Premier League. He is definitely looking more and more like the #10 option we were hoping for.

Amazing to see Sandro & Kaboul play the 90 minutes. They are going to be giants for us this season.

Would have given Holtby an 8.5 but knocked the 0.5 off because he didn't pull off the Klinsmann dive off properly. If he keeps it up he should have plenty of attempts to improve.​
