Not sure if this is worthy of a thread on it's own (the mods can decide) but certainly worthy of mention.

I was just wading through the (sometimes) entertaining mailbox on football365.com when i came across this little gem. And what's more it from one of our more illustrious SC members!

I know I'm a bit late, but there are a couple of points I feel I have to make about last nights game and the comments that have followed:

1. Now most people appreciate that Arsenal fans are not exactly the most knowledgeable when it comes to the glorious game, but do they not even understand what a reserve is? If you go to the official Arsenal website you can even see the reserve squad. The simple undeniable fact is that not a single reserve team player played against Tottenham in either of the two legs.

2. 9 of the players from last night also played against Birmingham in the league last week. So do you also play your second string team in the league? What are you saving the first team for exactly?

As far as I am aware, at no point during the pre-match preperation did Juande Ramos decide the Arse team selection.

It was Wenger.

He fucked up.

The end.

its true and you can mention it all you like to the goons but they won't except it.

even if it was their first team, the way we played was unstoppable. :-D

Hey! It's me!

My first letter to get published. Amazing what happens when you refrain from repeatedly calling the F365 staff a bunch of ****s.

Thats what pisses me off, You know that the scum fans are gonna say that as an excuse, it's just a load of crap, Gilberto is hardly a reserve, Fabregas played most of the match and that made no difference, heck if they can go say that then with our recent injury lists we can go and say the same everytime they went and beat us.

Just for fun i'm wearing my 125 years shirt in the office today as there are many scummers in here, i'm loving every minute of it.

One of the things that is pleasing me is the media coverage being more about us, our performance and especially the atmosphere at the ground, rather than about them. Its about how we won the game, we are getting the credit we deserve and I think this will be very powerful.

Even the Goons on Arsenal Mania admitted before the game it wasn't their 'kids'. Here are some of their comments from a post on COYS:

"it's an embarresingly strong squad!!- we gotta win now or else we wont have the 'we definately only played youngsters' excuse- the main dif will be the strength of the bench probably........it's ghood that we're taking it seriously i spose"

"It is a very strong squad indeed. Flamini is also in there. I wonder if he'll start"

"I can hear the spurs fans crying already. lol."

"Very strong squad. I think this match means more to Wenger than we think. Apart from it being a North London Derby and the fact he doesnt want Ramos to get a pscyhological edge if Spurs win for the long run, I think he sees it as a realistic chance of us gaining silverware this season. Wenger knows he cant go this season without winning a trophy so why not get the one we have the best chance in at the moment."

"So, looks like we'll have no excuses if we lose tonight. We'll just have to thrash em."

"When we win i can't wait to hear the Spurs fans crying and complaining that we didn't play a youth squad. Like it makes any difference whether we play them with kids or our first team its always the same result."

My old man admitted to me last night that it was a strong arsenal squad and there was no excuses for losing (He is a gooner). You wont get many goons coming forward and saying "fair play, you out played us last night and deserve it" cos there all a bunch of c***s when it comes down to it. COYS, we will rock at Wembley.

To be fair to merson, as usual he was very honest.
he openly said he didn't like the spurs fans, and its understandable why, but he also said our league position is lieing and that we have a very very good team.
And he admitted openly that Wenger did get it wrong.

Nice to hear straight from a gooners mouth, but he is normally pretty honest in his post match analysis.
