I read that David Bentley could be leaving during the upcoming loan window, wondering what the restrictions are in terms of bringing someone new in, e.g. would we be able to bring in a fringe striker from one of the big European teams?

I read that David Bentley could be leaving during the upcoming loan window, wondering what the restrictions are in terms of bringing someone new in, e.g. would we be able to bring in a fringe striker from one of the big European teams?

The loan window is to allow players to move to Championship/League 1/2 clubs.

The transfer window for Premiership clubs closed on 31 January - there are exemptions such as signing out of contract players provided we do not exceeed our 25 man squad - but generally we cannot sign more players to join immediately until the next TW opens
