A replay we could have done without considering our busy fixture list. Hopefully Reading will put their second string again and we will hopefully coast past them with ease.

The Official Site Team News:

Jermaine Jenas returns but Darren Bent is unlikely to make it back in time for tonight's FA Cup replay at Reading.

The striker has been out for the last couple of weeks with a knee problem and although he's close to returning to training, he's not yet deemed ready for match action.

Midfielder JJ is available after a one-match suspension for five yellow cards served at Chelsea.

Tom Huddlestone sits out the last of his three games after his red card against Reading in the initial third round tie but Didier Zokora is away on international duty.

Longer-term injuries Anthony Gardner (ankle), Gareth Bale (foot) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto remain out.

Skysports.com Preview:

Reading host Tottenham on Tuesday in their FA Cup third-round replay.

The two sides meet for the third time in less than a month and with 14 goals coming from the previous encounters - an exciting match could be anticipated.

The winner of the match already knows what lies in wait in the fourth round - a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

With Premier League survival very much the main aim for Reading this season, manager Steve Coppell is set rotate his squad.

Team news

However, with Ibrahima Sonko, Emerse Fae and Andre Bikey on African Cup of Nations duty - his options could be limited.

Michael Duberry is sidelined with a knee injury and remains out along with John Oster and Glen Little.

New Czech signing Marek Matejovsky is not registered and is therefore ineligible, as is Alan Bennett - who has returned from a loan spell at Southampton.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is again left with the decision on whether to stick with Radek Cerny in goal or recall Paul Robinson.

Jermaine Jenas looks set to feature after he completed a one-game ban.

Sorry but just can't see us doing anything tonight, if we lose then lets concentrate on the CCup and then the League and then UEFA, if we win then god help us against Manure who demolished the toon last saturday, what will they do to us with the form they are in?

COYS! anyways...

Scrape a 1-0 win with a deflected shot after we have two decent penalty shouts turned down?

Should have got a result at OT in the league, I agree. We always have a chance against anyone in a cup match, but I think we will be prioritising the CC and the UEFA Cup and will play the rezzies tonight.

Could still get a result with them.

By my thinking, playing the rezzies tonight IS a positive move.

If we get through, we've saved the 1st team for the upcoming games. If we go out, it's less of a big deal with a trip to Old Trafford to come.

And we've still saved the 1st team

Would they pass to each other though?

Poyet to score a last minute goal, knock himself out and claim a penalty.

85 years ago today…

In another Cup replay, we beat Worksop Town 9-0 after making a bollocks of the first game.

And whom did we meet in the next round? Why, MU Rowdies (or plain Manchester United as they were then). And what was the score? 4-0 to us!

Thanks to Topspurs for this inspiring piece of trivia, which I'm sure everyone will agree is far better than one of Mr BBK's wanky spells!

Only 85 years ago!

Is that before the prmiership? Coz I'm sure if it is then it doesn't count.

What are you talking about? That was Mr BBK's fourth season of spell binding and his most memorable successes to date.
