Sore throat. He said he had no energy or strength. If true, clearly a virus of some kind or something along those lines - how is he supposed to run about for 90 minutes feeling like that?

Lennon's strength is his pace and running at people. That's pretty much all he does (not slating him, it's a fact). Without strength or energy, how is supposed to do this? He cannot. Therefore if he had played, he'd have been useless, and quite possilbly made himself feel even worse, so he would end up missing up coming IMPORTANT league games.

So best thing to do? Not play! A knackered lennon is a useless lennon.

Now, I'll refer to some other bollocks being said tonight.

NO, he isn't. Nor is he useless, nor is he a lot of the rude and spiteful things being bandied about here tonight. He is a good manager, who does have limitations, and who, imo, has probably taken us as far as he can. But I bear him no ill will because of this. He DID take us to the champions league. He HAS got us regularly competing for top four. He HAS brought our players together like no manager has in recent history. And for all this he deserves respect.
Yes, we are all disappointed at tonight, but sometimes things just go wrong. And when they go wrong playing one of the BEST teams in the world, with the best manager in the world, well.....you've seen what can happen. Tonight is NO REASON to be so downright disrespectful towards Harry. In fact, I am going to thank him, here and now, for taking us this far. I think perhaps we do need to change, perhaps he has done as much as he can with us, but time will tell.


I end this by saying....come on lads, pick yourselves up. Yes, we are probably out of the CL, but we are still going to take this lot back to the lane, and should give it a damn good go. Also, the league is NOT over. We CAN still finish top four.

The Lennon thing is very odd. I can't remember hearing of a professional sportsman not being able to take part because they were tired. It's the fact he did the warmup that's the odd bit. If he'd have done that and then said, fair enough.

Jenas is better in the middle, Modric has played for a while on the left. Bale was the only change really, but they then re-shuffled into their usual positions after 10 mins with VDV dropping into the right slot.

Yes it's difficult to figure out, since our whole game in the cl has been based on wingers getting on the outside of fullbacks and getting crosses in for crouch its strange that with Lennon out we didnt just replace him with Jenas directly. Seeing as Jenas is quite ineffective at cm away from home anyway and playing alongside a defensive midfielder in Sandro we was always going to struggle in the middle.

Putting Jenas in the middle made us change 3 positions in the midfield when we only needed to change one.

The fact that we only have 2 wingers with pace in Bale and Lennon is another story entirely but quite annoying all the same.

He didn't not play because he was scared, that I am sure.

He has played in cup finals, for his country, at the world cup, away in the San Serio and even a World cup quarter final at a much younger age.
