What people seem to be failing to realise is that its not the playing on thursdays and then sundays that fcuks things up as i believe 2nd string players will be playing anyway its the disruption to the whole squad, for instance all our coaches have to travel abroad, take time to prepare for the europa game instead of focusing on just the prem league match and then the majority of the squad will be absent leaving the 1st teamers to train with who?? the youth team?

People need to realise that its not the extra games that will be played, its the knock on effect of having to prepare and play them that causes the disruption.

and that doesn't happen with champions league games

Where in my post does it say it doesnt?

But if you read it again, i say that its the disruption to the preparation for premier league games that will be effected, just like it has this season. Difference being when preparation for saturday games is effected because we're playing Inter Milan, AC Milan and Real Madrid alot of fans will accept that.

When we lose focus and draw or worse lose to QPR, Norwich or West Ham next season because we had a game against Adis Addaba Firemen on the Thursday most fans, myself included will be p!ssed rite off.

Instead of inserting hilariously side-splitting "smiley" faces, why not try to add something interesting to the debate?

He's just been generally miserable and pessimistic during most of the whole second half of the season.

Can't see Levy being impressed by his manager not wanting 10m match day income, extra sponsorship money and improved club profile. I'm sure he's thrilled to have a manager that doesn't want to compete in anything but the Champions League.

Levy's fired people for less before. Harry should watch it, if he's not hoping for the sack so that he can take over another club without compensation that is ..

Jesus , so many on these forums who will happily read what they want to back up whatever opinion they hold regardless of it actually being correct . It's a couple of comments out of context, it's deliberately been misunderstood (he's talking about travel disruption more than additional games ) and the point at which he said, regardless we're still going for it is totally absent.

It does but if you read the quote concerning azerbajan then it's fairly clear hes referring to travel to distant or slightly odd places . That happens much more in the Europa league where you can travel all over the place to play a team of Latvian plumbers on a pitch resembling a bog . It's wholly different to popping over to Madrid or Milan or Bremen etc etc

I don't really get this attitude. It's not as if we have a vastly inferior squad to them. I think if we swapped strikers we would have a significantly stronger team. As you said, why get all focused on City? Surely if we sign a couple of great players we'll be able to compete. We're competing with them pretty damn well now! Or we were until a few weeks ago...

Why get focused on city ??? Oh I don't know, maybe it's because they are our direct competition for 4th spot, because we took it off them last season, because they're the richest club in the world , because the media ask him about them all the fucking time ?

The point was, whenever he gets asked about them it's always 'oh they've got so much money we can't afford those sort of wages' or 'how are we supposed to compete with them?'. I've heard Harry say that kind of thing frequently.

I'm well aware that he gets asked about them all the time, but he could easily just say 'Why should we care how much City are spending?' We don't need to play City 38 times in a season.

Because it's not uncommon for a person who is in football to have an opinion about the wider game.

I think you're picking on the tiniest thing and adding a sprinkling of your "I don't like Harry" to suit that general line of thinking.

Is it an opinion about the wider game? Or is it an excuse? That's a genuine question by the way. I honestly don't know.

It's not that I don't like Harry per se, he's done a great job for us and I do think he's an amusing character. I just get the distinct impression he says a lot of things to cover his back. Maybe I'm wrong.

We should just play our 2nd 11 every game and get the extra revenue like how Arsenal treat the league cup
