Ben Pearce on Twitter: #thfc have had 205 corners this season and only scored from 5 of them. I'll have Redknapp's thoughts on the matter online a little later.

Should be interesting.

Wow. The surprising thing is that I didn't realised we've scored from 5 corners this season. I can only remember Kaboul vs City and Bale vs Wigan.

I remember when we signed Bale and he was some sort of free kick "specialist".

Bale Vs Bolton. I can't think of the other two, though. Were any of them against Shamrock Rovers? If so then they don't really count.

Have we scored from 5, I'm surprised by that.

Kaboul against City springs to mind, other than that I'm struggling.

Anyway, they're a huge part of the game...and you would think by now we would be looking to address it.

Oh yes Bale against Bolton and Wigan.

By the time the boys have come into training to run about a bit there isnt really time to practise set plays.

Y'now set pieces are a lottery tho Ben, sometimes you score, other times you hit the first man, its how it goes.............. Poor Luka can barely reach the 18 yard box but i let him take em as he's a little fella and its better to put your bigger ones in the box. Apart from that we're Triffic.

Was Defoe's goal against Bolton from a corner, or was it touched on to him?

Can't remember.

To be fair, more of our corners beat the first man than usual against Stoke.

At this stage we should just take short corners and build up the attack from there.

The thing with our corners and set-pieces is that it isn't just one thing, it's a whole haphazard bunch of failures, from poor delivery, to lack of strategy.

If Harry were an American Football coach his set-play tactics would be something along the lines of, give it to the QB, everyone else run around a bit and then the QB can try and chuck it to someone. And when that approach failed he'd probably just shake his head and put it down to bad luck :-|

5 from 205, frankly, means nothing unless you can compare it with other teams stats. Are we above average? - I very much doubt it. Are we amongst the worst? maybe not.

You can look at set pieces as a whole, Citeh and Utd have scored from 16 this season in the EPL.

@BenPearceSpurs
"The 'short' answer was that a lack of height is to blame, but Redknapp conceded the deliveries were poor against Stoke."

Harry still in denial about the issue it seems. He just has to oversimplify everything. There's a lot more to this than just a lack of height; and clearly the poor deliveries are not something that suddenly popped up out of the blue against Stoke! In fact I thought I saw a marginal improvement on them as compared to recent games.

The bigger problem is movement in the box and a lack of synchronism. If we tried practising set pieces occasionally then maybe we'd actually get somewhere. Why don't we do it? Laziness? We may not have the bigglest team but we are not THAT short. We have our share of big players and we have plenty of players who should be capable of delivering a dead ball into a box. I despair at how simple Harry's thinking is at times.
