Harry Redknapp admitted Spurs struggled to contain a rampant Man City side in their 5-1 drubbing at home.

The Tottenham chief could do little but watch as Edin Dzeko tore apart his defence with four clinical finishes.

His miserable day continued when Sergio Aguero got on to the scoresheet, despite Younes Kaboulpulling one back which was merely a consolation as they met City in particularly devastating form in front of goal.

"We didn't defend well enough, they play a little push and run around the edge of the box, we don't run with people, they get a free header, so we didn't defend well enough and it cost us," he said.

"Once you get a couple of goals down from a good side like that it's really difficult, they're full of quality there's no doubt about that.

"They've got fantastic forward players, they're going to be difficult for anyone to contain them for 90 minutes.

"They've got players with goals in them - you've only got to look at them."

Yes Harry, "You've only got to look at em" then think "I know I'll play the least defensive, running side possible.

Harrys right, they have got fantastic forwards and players with goals in them.

Which makes it even more baffeling why Harry chose to make it easier for them by pairing Modric and Niko in the center of midfield.

Harry, you fucked up, plain and simple.

A central midfield of Kranjcar and Modric, playing in a straight 442 with two out and out wingers was always going to be a recipe for disaster.

Injuries are no excuse, you adapt tactically even if it is a tad makeshift but only a fool repeats mistakes time and again which unfortunately Redknapp is doing.

Hmmm is that because of the total lack of a defensive minded midfielder in the side picked by you Harry ?? :bang:

Typical Harry talk like he never had an input why players weren't working back etc...Joe Jordan will probably get blamed for that i guess or Les Ferdinand for why Crouch never put the header away.

Oh but not Harry it wasn't my fault I'm down to the bare bones.

So Palacios cost what ? 14 million quid . We are desperately short of a DM
for a match with a billionaire team ...

...Any good reason why we didn't use our expensive asset in this situation ?

For me this stinks of Redknapp trying to do us over, Time and time again he has fundamentally screwed up and is getting out of his depth, The interviews, The reluctance to buy forwards and his complete failure to understand modern universal tactics has led us into this mess and it has been coming for sometime now.

I was never an admirer of the bloke Tbh but I had total respect for what he has done for us but Imo redknapp has taken us as far as he can now and needs to make way for someone else.

On SSN, just saw Redknapp at the post match press conference and he was moaning that we've had a bad pre-season and all the talk of transfers have unsettled the team, Modric to chelsea, Crouch to Stoke etc... So he's even using the media as an excuse for the performances despite him being a major factor in all that shit anyway! What a pathetic old man.

Haven't been back from the game long. Awful stuff

Sorry Harry but you got it wrong MASSIVELY today. I can't see this happening much more though

No knee jerk though. Poor performance and beaten by a far superior team. Poor tactics didn't help.

If Arse wipe Wenger, with all the trophies he's won is getting hell from their fans what chance does 'Arry have with only a 4th and 5th place finish from all the smart arses on this site.
Lighten up for Christ's sake, we've just played two of the top teams in Europe, albeit via the Premiership, without some of our key players, we'll not lose like this again during the rest of the season, mark my words
